Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will captain his country in their forthcoming five-match One-Day International series against Zimbabwe as fast bowler and regular captain Mashrafe Mortaza is not fit.

Mortaza is still recovering from surgery to both knees after picking up an injury in the West Indies, where Shakib stood in and guided his side to Test and ODI series wins over a depleted West Indian side.

The five-match series gets underway on 27th October and the 14-man squad for the first three matches, in Dhaka, sees a recall for left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak after his action was cleared by the International Cricket Council (ICC) while pacer Shahadat Hossain returns at the expense of Syed Rasel.

Zimbabwe have just beaten Kenya 4-1 in an ODI series and after the tour of Bangladesh ends, they will travel to South Africa to play in two more ODIs on 8th and 10th November.

Bangladesh: Shakib Al Hasan (captain), Tamim Iqbal, Junaid Siddique, Mohammad Ashraful, Roqibul Hasan, Mahmudullah, Naeem Islam, Mushfiqur Rahim, Abdur Razzak, Shahadat Hossain, Enamul Haque jr., Nazmul Hossain, Dollar Mahmud, Rubel Hossain
