On Friday 4th June Charles Russell will be hosting a Twenty20 Varsity Cricket Match between bitter rivals Cambridge University and Oxford University. 2010 will be the 3rd year that Charles Russell has sponsored this unique event, reinforcing their commitment to cricket and the sports industry.
The 2009 match saw some fine cricket played by the competitive Oxford and Cambridge Varsity Teams before the rain brought play to a halt and a draw was announced. This year, therefore, both teams have everything to play for. Both teams have been training hard for the chance to take home the Armada dish, and of course the more important glory of winning one over their rivals.
Charles Russell LLP has been a huge supporter of Varsity Cricket for the past two years; the law firm has offices in both university cities and has a leading sports group with considerable experience in cricket. The Varsity match is one of cricket’s most historic fixtures, dating back to 1827, and will provide a fantastic opportunity for the public and wider University to watch such a high standard of this sport.
