IPL 2013: Chennai Super Kings Into The Final

Even by their own lofty standards, Chennai Super Kings delivered a superb performance to beat Mumbai Indians by 48 runs and secure their passage into the final of the Indian Premier League 2013.

It will be their fourth successive appearance (and fifth overall) and nobody could argue against their presence after they scored 192 for one and bowled Mumbai out for 144 to secure a dominant victory.

Batsman Ian Bell has been passed fit and England have named an unchanged 12-man squad for the second and final Test against New Zealand.

Bupa research - backed by former England captain Michael Vaughan - has laid bare the sorry state of Britain's knees - with one in four Britons stating they have suffered from knee pain in the last year and 81% of sufferers currently in pain. With particular relevance to cricket, given the need for cricketers to be able to change direction and speed quickly whether bowling, batting and fielding, the new research could offer new hope for many players.

Player Of The Week

There can be only two possible contenders for this week's Cricket World Player of the Week award and it is virtually impossible to separate them. Stuart Broad took the man of the match award at Lord's for leading the second innings demolition of New Zealand, but without James Anderson's first innings five-fer there might not have been much of a run chase for the Black Caps on day four.

The 2012 World Twenty20 promised to be a tournament to remember. This time, Sri Lanka were aiming to win on home soil but they faced challenges from around the globe in one of the most open tournaments to date. We believe this is the first book published on the ICC World Twenty20 2012 and is currently available as both an e-book and paperback.
The interviews in this book are our favourites from a number we conducted in 2010 and 2011. These were busy times for the game and inside you will read about some scarily accurate Ashes predictions, some intriguing insights into life as a county cricketer and a whole lot more. We hope you enjoy reading our back catalogue as much as we have enjoyed compiling it.

County Cricket Headlines

A round-up of the day's county cricket action plus previews of tomorrow's round seven games.
Rain in the Netherlands meant that only 10.2 overs were bowled in Schiedam as the Group A Yorkshire Bank 40 between the hosts and Sussex ended in a no result.
Chris Dent was the unexpected star of the day in the Yorkshire Bank 40. Boasting a previous highest one-day score of just 36, Dent struck 151 not out off only 113 balls to help Gloucestershire to a narrow win over Glamorgan. Elsewhere, Hampshire, Lancashire, Yorkshire and Somerset all triumphed.
There were wins for Nottinghamshire, Essex, Sussex and a remarkable one inside two days for Worcestershire at Canterbury as round six of the LV= County Championship drew to a close. Alan Richardson was Worcestershire's familiar bowling star and took seven wickets in the Kent second innings.

Mr Predictor

A cricket betting video for Cricket World TV about the latest cricket betting odds as John Pennington and Alastair Symondson look ahead to the Twenty20 International series between England and India as well as South Africa and New Zealand. Fresh from winning the Test series 2-1, a confident England team will take on India who will be glad to get on to the pitch and away from being criticised from all quarters for their performance in the Tests. Neither side is at full strength however, with England missing their captain Stuart Broad as well as James Anderson and Steven Finn, meaning Eoin Morgan will captain and Joe Root, Stuart Meaker and James Harris will be looking to impress.
