ponting would never break it after he criticize lara of being selfish and gilchrist never, he bats to late down the order. It down to sehwag, hayden, gayle and the genius himself BRIAN CHARLES LARA cause they have a match at the worst bowling track in the world, the Antigua Recreation Ground in Antigua. |

Not Hayden he's in the twilight and that 380 was a fluke Can't see sehwag maybe someone as unorthodox as Brian cos that means you have to really focus on the ball when your'e facing |

Ponting needs more support from the bottom order to make a high score Its only Hussey and Gilchirst down there who can stand up for him at the moment With Martyn, Hodge not there, Clarke and Symonds not performing there isn't much hope And the point made earlier was true, Ponting said Lara was selfish so Ponting would be a hypocrit to go on and make a high score I don't think Ponting is fit enough either, he would have a lot of fitigue with lots of matches being played |

I don't see any player getting past 400. The mindset of current captains are different ('cept Graeme Smith!) - they want wins , not draws. Triple hundreds are a rarity nowadays , nevermind quadruples!!
Of course , I could be wrong , maybe Gillespie is on for 401 today!! |

Maybe he is. ![]() Nah, really though. He has improved his test batting alot. If Dizzy was going to get 401* it would take him 650+ balls probably with that good defensive technique!! As Clobbs said aswell, I never knew there were timeless tests. ![]() Edited by RightHandBat |

Clobs is foolish and underrated Dizzy, I have also known his ability with the bat, he is very strong defensively and he is liek a walking forward defence..Better then Boycott defensively Very funny.

i think if any aussie's going to make 400 its Gilespie the others are to agressive and therefore lose concentration to easily the main reason pontings only made 200's

Hayden has 380 you stooge, Clarke has a 1st class double ton, Hussey has 3 300's in first class cricket, Gilchrist has a test 200, Langer has a few 200s in tests.

i agree with sledger that no one will get past 400 atleast in near future. the reason is also perfect. i don't see any team allowing a batsman to score 400 as if he scores the team's score might be 600-700 and the overs would be abt 210 (2 1/2 days)and i feet its too much for today's cricket. if the batsman wants to reach 400 he has to play a fast inn. it has happened once and i believe it will remain once. |

There is know that the batsmen in the aged australian batting line up can make 401+ as they have been around so long weaknesses have been figured out and they are to impatient to defend they're way out of a hole. |

i think grame smith can break brians score of 400 his proven he can bat
for long periods of time against england making scores of 275 and 277 at such young age of 23.That shows a lot of character, good mental strength and the ability to break that record. He is still young only 25 and has a long career ahead of him.I'm quite sure it won't be long till we see g.smith holding the record for the highest score in test cricket. ![]() |
