  Steve Elworthy , the tournament organiser said that the eventwill closely follow the method used in local T20 competitions. Fromthat , I take it that on-field mics will be part of the game - alongwith the miner's helmets , dancing girls and rock music !

Guys, Australia has the best chance of winning. Their power hitters are likely to thrive in this environment...and I've seen Gilly, Ponting and Symonds in full 20/20 attack mode. Do you reckon they'll ask for microphones while on the field, so the commentators can converse with them? I Don't see a problem with the Aussies squad. That side can Play all form of the game and win easily still. Hayden can hit them, we all know what Gilly can do; Clarke and Symonds can murder the ball and Hussey has played some cameos in his career all ready. Bracken's good with the ball in limited overs, well, Lee, he might go for a few but can take wickets still and is handy with the bat. If Monty just randomly pressed [enter] every now and then it would help too.

I think England have more of a chance fielding this squad then if they had just stuck to the ODI squad.

I think the so called 'specialists' have earned a chance. Whether they will perform or not is anyone's guess.

I think Australia will probably do fine with the squad they have named, because, as has been mentioned, they will adapt. They are the world leaders of cricket at the moment and IMO are so far ahead of any other nation that even with their relative lack of T20 experience they could probably easily go on to win.

Our 20/20 comp is only very new, it's also not serious, they have been bringing in celebrities to play to try and boost crowds, it's purley an entertainment thing.

Nah, they've stuck with the one-day side Monty. Lee in for McGrath is the only difference. Hodge has a fantastic Twenty20 record, I'm less sure about the others but Australia have confidence in their players to adapt. As they are world leaders, they'll probably cope just fine.

Mind, Cameron White might be miffed seeing as he is the T20 record score-holder at not getting a look in.

It's an admirable defence Monty, but they haven't tried these guys at international Twenty20 level. Yes, most have played international cricket before but not at Twenty20 level, where instead we stuck with the Bells, the Andersons etc.

All that does is put added pressure on the specialists; everyone is expecting them to be able to perform, just because they have done it at domestic level.

And we're not the only side to pick Twenty20 specialists either.

And what relevance does The Ashes have to a Twenty20 tournament?

They were just before the world cup. but Australia regained no. 1 spot after the world cup.
