The rest of the world was rather slow on the uptake , but now all the top sides are playing positively.

Runrates are at an alltime high and fielding sides are , in the main , really pushing to bowl sides out. Highlighting this is the almost total disappearance of thirdman , being replaced by another attacking fielding position.

The days of dull draws are practically over (the odd exception is on some tracks in Pakistan) - I don't have the actual figures of percentage of test wins over the last ten years or so , but maybe one of the members can dig that up.

To give you some idea of the vibrancy of test cricket , The upcoming Ashes series of 5 tests are sold out for the 1st 4 days of each match - that means 400,000 tickets were sold for the Melbourne Test alone!!

Many might prefer one day cricket , but Test cricket is alive and well and still the backbone of the great game.

There are too many grounds throughout the world, especially in places like the Windies and Pakistan, where any good batting line-up can simply bat the other side out of the game. Aussie tracks traditionally provide something for both bowler and batsman but im worried by reports which seem to suggest theyre going to be a bit dead this winter
