Dont jam your feet, go back and acrosee just a slight bit, let the ball come to you rather than going out for it. Play it under your eyes, watch it onto the pad.     <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.cricketworld.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=3195">scuudz</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 4459<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 24 June 2008 at 2:56pm<br /><br /><P>When we play indoor cricket (which is most of the time here in Canada), you can score the most run straight back behind the bowler.&nbsp; Due to this, when we go outdoors in the summer, its very difficult to play square of the wicket.&nbsp; The cuts, cover drives etc. come to you eventually but a lot of people find it hard to play good flicks, leg glances, pulls and hooks.</P><DIV>I have made a serious effort to back myself to play square of the wicket on the leg side this season and have been quite successful.&nbsp; I would offer two tips:</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>1.&nbsp; Back yourself to score runs square of the wicket on the on-side.&nbsp; Be confident.&nbsp; If you read the line of the ball quickly and know its missing leg stump, then believe you can capitalize on the bad delivery.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>2.&nbsp; In the beginning, do not try to hit the ball hard at all.&nbsp; Like Clob said, try to work it away for a single.&nbsp; Even that will give you the confidence to play the big shot in the future.</DIV>]]>

I'm not much cop off my legs either but I find I have far more success looking to time the ball onto the leg side as opposed to whacking it and you might find the same yourself if you focus on working those balls for singles instead of trying to blast them out the park.]]>
