                  What a match, T20s scripts amazing matches more than any other format.Good to see Yuvi back in team and all great signs about his batting , barring the chance(life) he got when Mills and Mcullum had a nasty collision, good that Mcullum and Mills did not have any major injury. They are the one of the Key players in NZ's T20 plan. Amazed, why Southee was not in the squad?. He is as good as any other allrounder in NZ side.

Yes, for NZ's chances, Mcullum in attacking mode is the trumph card, and that is the way they should go about the business in coming WC, coz they will be facing lot of spin in SL later.Even against the world greatest spinners like Warne and Murali that I have seen, attack was the best option.Then the way NZ bowlers used those slower balls & varied the pace on a pitch that got slower towards the end was great tactic. Rohit had to hit 6 runs  of 2 balls, he could manage 4.Wish he had got the last one in the slot Wink.

             Very very happy for Yuvi, the man behind WC 2011 architect back in action, he started strongly but saw him turn down few 2s, which used to be walk in the park for him. Even the ball before he got out , Dhoni had called for two, but Yuvi could manage only one. I am sure he will get there to full match fitness soon, he will get fitter and add lot of running stamina soon, coz being in team and working out and being alone and working out - there is a lot of difference in motivation.

Welcome back Yuvi!, work on your stamina and running (esp. the 1s to 2s thing) and I'm sure you will rock like you rocked in 2007 and 2011 and bring glory back again Thumbs Up. Go mate, add another Man of the Series in you illustrious career.

Can't understand how India managed to lose today, they still have never beaten NZL in a T20 game, never.

MS Dhoni, what happened to him? Touted by some on the forum as the "Best finisher in the game ever", lost India an easy game!!!

You are being over critical Sledge, I think their recent performances in sub-continent were good enough.Remember they had three 70 run defeats, that too they lost from a seemingly achievable position.They just could not cross the line.

On the other hand, Indian top order need to fire, it's been almost a year since they have played as they ideally should have. Good thing for India is looks like they are finally getting back to form.

NZ surprised me somewhat here , especially in the 2nd test. Yes , they lost 2-0 , but it was a great improvement on their abysmal showing in the Windies. I reckon that was poor management decisions that left them seriously undercooked for that series and something they need to get right for future tours.
                   So India against England later this year - the visitors will have to vastly improve on past performances in the subcontinent to stand any chance methinks.

Congratulations team india,good performance by youngsters in the team. Fortunately my fear of fourth innings target didn't come true. Great application and discipline by Virat and pujara. I am not sure if Raina is a good option for test, may be we need to induct two more youngsters to bat and a young steamer to substitute Khan
 
The time is right now in future series for Sehwag to move down the order and have Rahane open with gambhir.....this will surely help from recovering from middle order woes and even sehwag wants to bat down the order

Credit to India on a hard fought win, what was good to see though was the fight NZL have sown, that is what we all want to see, unlike the spineless performance in Hyderabad they were much better here, although I think eventually they themselves handed the game to India by not batting well in the 2nd innings, this was still a much better and respectable performance.

The T20's must be a lot more closer affairs, in fact I'd put the kiwis as the favorites for the T20's given their power batters and Vettori joining the squad.

One thing I feel about team India, we might well be going back into the 90's, in fact I think we have, this team is very very difficult to beat at home, but is hopeless overseas, I think it'll stay this way for a long time now.

India win the series.NZ gave a good fight,however the match was effectively 3.5 days while the first one was close to 3 days.

Today morning when India started I was hoping Ashwin to join the elite group of Spofforth,Valentine,Hogg and Alderman (50 wickets in 8 matches), only behind Turner(6 matches),Richardson,Philander(7 matches). However it was not to be, the last wicket fell even before he got a bowl today. Anyway he should try hard for a quick 100.

Another plus about for India has been Shewag's slip catching.That quick hand eye coordination coming into play at slips too. Very interesting game going on here, 123/4 NZL in their 2nd innings, quite unbelievably they have a good chance of winning this test, if they can muster up another 200 runs then 330 odd to chase in the final innings will be quite some challenge.

Excellent spell by Southee earlier in the day, 7 wickets in an innings for a fast bowler in India is some achievement, well done Tim Southee!

Curator must be banned!! He should understand India can only play on flat pitches yet he made a little bowling friendly one lucky its NZ not Australia, SA or England otherwise it would have been a innings lost!

At 80/4 and NZ bowlers were attacking in full flow under friendly overcast conditions, Raina played a crucial knock, he took the attack back to NZ bowlers and tilted the momentum back.Great job there , what I like about Raina, is that he is such a selfless team player... he is one sort of a player who is always ready to sacrifice his wicket for team's cause. 

While Raina was magnificently taking the attack back to NZ bowlers, Kohli held up his end to ensure even if there is a slip up , he can stay there. Got to admire the maturity of these youngsters. I am happy that Pujara, Kohli and Raina have contributed in the series at crucial junctions.

Raina could not take advantage of reprive of no ball and could only add 7 runs , while Kohli looks good for a well deserved century.

NZ batsman on day 1 were good with positive intent, while today their bowlers bowled their heart out, the only guy who needs a stick is pitch curator, foolish guy, maybe he does not know what a home advantage means. BCCI must send that guy and get him trained in ENG,SA and AUS.

This is what will happen to India time and again, 99/4 in response to NZL's impressive 365, after a brilliant counter attacking century by Ross Taylor, it really was a brilliant counter attack.

Sachin and Sehwag are players who have past their expiry date, while Raina is just not good quality, Pujara is good but he will take time to deliver consistently, India's bowling continues to be hopeless.

Don't know what is the problem with these curators , for many years they never prepare pitches to home team's strength and opposition weakness. I really don't understand the logic of preparing pitches that do not turn much.

India should be going with three pronged attack , Ashwin,Ojha and maybe Bhajji.That should be the tactic.God knows when they will learn ( I mean curators).

NZL pretty much done and dusted, no way they are going to save this one. Today Ten wickets have gone down for 237 runs. Five of those crucially were the top five New Zealand batsmen. It was a trial by spin under overcast skies. Ashwin and Ojha extracted more turn and bite on a second day pitch. New Zealand are battling to save the follow on. It will be another hard grind tomorrow.

What hurt New Zealand early was that the in-form Guptill departed early, exposing a brittle middle order. Franklin's done a fine job negating the spinners. Trouble is van Wyk is the last recognised batsman at the crease.

This starts in Hyderabad tomorrow, I'm almost certain to be there at the stadium on Saturday, However as I told you all earlier I'm on medication and I'm staying away from the sun as much as possible which has helped me recover to a good extent alhamdulillah, although still not completely. It has been cloudy since last 2 days, although there hasn't been any rain since Friday, so if it remains cloudy I'm sure to go.

NZL will rely heavily on pace bowling and will hope to expose the inexperience in this Indian batting order while India will again depend on their spinners, Ashwin and our local lad Ojha, should be a good contest, if we compare man by man , quite surprisingly NZL are almost at par with India. The other thing is India are overwhelming favorites to win this series, this may put added pressure on them, everything to lose and nothing much top gain.

Last two years record of NZ is not bad , they drew series with PAK and AUS , while lost 1-0 to SA and IND, while they two series against ZIM. 

The only real worry was the latest loss against a spirited WI. So Indians would do good if they take Kiwi's seriously this time around.

On IND
Laxman and Dravid have retired, and in all likelihood Pujara and Badrinath will take the places. Contrary to the popular belief, I had always maintained that these retirements should have come lot earlier , sometime in mid 2010 or early 2011. Anyway never is too late.

The only concern that I have is that Bardri and Pujara are typical 1 down batsman, I think that Badri should get his atleast  5-6 test matches on a trot at one down.Batting line up should look something like this Shewag, Gambhir, Badri, Sachin, Pujara, Kohli & Dhoni
