I think the man of the tournament is decided differently. I am seeing something about points thing and McGrath is leading the hunt with Jayawardena behind him. I just think right now, it should be between the 2 Aussie blokes. I do agree that he is under rated. Michael Clarke is also one of the "others" who seems to go un noticed. Over 400 runs and has the highest batting average (for a batsman) of the tournament. These are huge contibutors but as i said, consistent and magnificent are totally different. I'm a big fan of his and often like to think of others that can be rewarded for their success apart from the main few. In my opinion he is very, very underrated.

Anyhoo...while most people are saying Hayden and Murli I think Hogg has a strong case for player of the tournament. Talk about consistentcy. He has been excellent throughout. Good on him for proving many of his pre-tournament critics wrong.

I think Man of the Tournament is about consistent performances and match-winning efforts. Gibbs's 6 sixes, while hugely entertaining to many, certainly isn't enough to warrant a MOTT award for him.

Hayden must deserve this award. He has batted consistently throughout the tournament with great authority.

Good on him. Admittedly I had written him off as not only a one-day player but as a batsman not so long ago. Once again he has proven me wrong.
