id go for a good old kookaburra, the genisis tornado is £127.99, its the so its well in ur buget, its the next one up from the cyclone which is considered a brilliant bat, u can choose weights between 2lb 6oz and 2lb 8oz so its ur ideal weight, and with a kookburra u can be sure that your getting a good quality great bat, have a look for yourself, its bat number 130 on this page http://www.vks.com/brand/kookaburra.htm

Hey. Dont go for a Kashmir willow bat. They are for kiddies. How much are you looking to spend and we can go from there? Dont just go for a Kashmir willow Puma because it resembles Gilchrists bat. It would be FAR from it. Impala are a decent manufacturer but they are a better premium end bat maker and not so much in the cheaper kashmir willow blades. What level of cricket do you play and where do you see yourself in 2-3 years because if you want to play a higher grade of cricket in the future your kashmir willow bat will be NO good. Its definately worth spending a few extra bucks and upgrading to an english willow bat that will give you the feel and ping that you are after. CA is a GREAT brand out of Pakistan and alot of places in Australia stock them. There top of the line bat is only $350 and has received awesome reviews by everyone which is amazing considering Gray Nicolls top of the line bat is over $600.

Thanks, they look awesome. Just one question though, do they all have such straight grains, and so many? Also what do people who have used them think of them? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

um, i play u 17 for my glenorchy team, and im more a bowler than a batsman. i reckon i would be able to get into the grade teams as i do both chinaman and medium pace, which is pretty good. well, there is a english willow for 90, bettter off with that??

The CA Somo bat is $125 at Kingsgrove. This could be well worth a look. I haven't actually seen it in person but itd be a top quality bat for that kind of moolah. |

Sorry Dan - my contact is a GN sales rep. You could try Morrant Sports who seem to get hold of next season's kit before most. Not sure how County (Australia) and Hunts County (UK) are organised - i.e. whether they do not compete in the same geographic market. |

Are you serious? Dont be a girl. Its got huge edges - plenty of meat. Its a bat made for power, so of course it has plenty of meat. Im just saying for $125 its great value.

Somo for $125!!! You can get it here in enland for 30. My mate has just bought one as a practise bat. It looks quite powerful, but i haven't tried it.

Pretty sure it wouldnt be $30. When i said $125 that was in Australian dollars. Be careful of people putting stickers on a different bat. Make sure its from an authorized dealer and not some ebay junk.

It's not 30 australian dollars. It was 30 british pound. I'm not sure how much that is in australian dollars. |

WoodWorm are a good bat. Nothing bad to say about them. We'll see how they go in the ashes soon.

What would be the best bat for a no.6-7 batsman. A slightly light bat would be good with a medium sized grip.
