Kemp out and Pollock drafted in for this 20-20 game - Shaun won't bowl either.
Watch out for the opener Loots Bosman - this lad can REALLY hit a ball! It's a step up for the lad though - can he dump a 150kph bomb from Lee into the main stand , I sure hope so!

Bosman out for 23 (26) as South Africa off to a decent start, now they are 67/1 off of 8.3 overs. Smith is 22 (22) not out and Gibbs is 12 (11) not out.

I really wish I'd gotten to watch that match instead of reading the cricinfo
live score... It looked like one of the more interesting international 20/20
games so far...
Congratulations SA! Good to see Smith reach some form, I wished I'd had the
chance to see it in person while SA were over here though...

Sledger are you from barbados or south africa
This series will be great. With south africa saying they are looking for revenge and no McGrath, the aussies are in trouble. The series is in favour of SA in the tests but in the odi I think it is neutral. Pitches in SA don't really help spin so that will be a bonus to Sa, but you know shane warne, he has so much variation, it really doesn't matter him how much it turns and by the way, no matter how a pitch does take turn, the ball will still turn if you know how to do the huge ripper.
Smith looks great, but I can't wait to see the big man JUSTIN KEMP launch lee out of the park like he did to the english men.

Sledger is from neither South Africa or Barbados. He's English, but he works in South Africa.
He only has Barbados on his profile as a joke.

They won the 2020, this is the first ODI. Injury problems for Australia, they've had to pick the only eleven left with Ponting, Symonds, Clark unavailable and they're not doing brilliantly: 162-6 off 40 overs with Lee and Watson at the crease, although at the minute there is a delay for rain.

Smith got his hundred, and the players have gone off under heavy rain. Further play unlikely, and South Africa will win on Duckworth Lewis.

Good win for the locals , outplaying Oz in all areas yesterday. The D/L result not detracting from a convincing performance from Smith and company.
Ponting and Symonds were sorely missed and after the early losses it looked as if the Aussies were just making sure of getting through the 50 overs. Another good effort from Hussey , but a pretty average effort by their bowlers.
What's your opinions of Lewis and Clark fellas - I think they're pretty ordinary - they wouldn't make England's 1st XI and I'm not sure they'd get into India or Pakistan's either!

They actually went back and played another 8 overs ,SA needing 28 runs to win.
They got it in about 4.
SA winning in the end by 6 wickets.
Man of the Match Greame Smith 119 not out

Brilliant win by SA, Aus had some injuries -Ponting ,Symonds,Clark.
But remember SA was the whole VB series without Nel,Ntini and Kallis, so no excuses !
Still worried about SA batting order, can't see Kemp as nr 6 and selected as specialist batsman.

Was impressed with Aussie sportsmanship, every senior player walked to Smith on the conclusion of the match and congratulated him on his performance, Lee even gave him tap on the shoulder! Gilchrist also showed respect in defeat.

Lewis ,Johnson and Watson was ordinary, Clark was not playing yesterday but is definitely a better bowlers that the above mentioned.
Injuries is a dog, we had to live with it while we were touring Aus.
They always knew there would come a day when McGrath and Warne would retire or be injured.
Bracken impressed with very good bowling performance!

Clark is pretty good. He's performed very well for New South Wales over the years, and he only lost his CA contract in '02/'03 because of multiple injuries. He's got 19 wickets in 11 ODIs under tough conditions. I look forward to seeing him play tests, because he's capable of McGrathesque consistency.

Yep , he looks the pick of the new guys Roscoe - bowls in the right areas , but without the venom of McGrath at his very best.
It's unfair to compare the two really - Clark's not going to take 500 test wickets is he?
I still think Mick Lewis is decidely average though - get Gillespie back!

I don't want to see Mick Lewis sent packing permanently, but at the moment I'd have to agree that the mullet should - nay, must, be allowed to bounce again.

No Ponting or Symonds for today's game , but both netted yesterday. It looks precautionary , but Australia won't want to go 2-0 down here in Cape Town.
Weather forecast is for a cool day (22C) with brilliant sunshine - no chance of rain.
Good chance for SA to open up a gap - they've no injury concerns at all.

SA win the toss and decide to bat - steady enough start in a blustery but sunny Cape Town - 26-0 off 5.4 overs.

Sledger, why are you not at Newlands?
You know 77% of all ODI's at Newlands has been won by the team batting first!
