Topic: Bangladesh In Australia Posted: 15 August 2008 at 11:12am |
The squads are yet to be announced but it is perfectly clear that Ricky Ponting will be unavailable so either Mike Hussey or Michael Clarke will captain in his absence.
Im tipping Australia comfortably in a series whitewash anything less then that and it would be a disaster.

The Australian squad is: Matty Hayden, Shane Watson, Michael Clarke (capt), Mike Hussey, Andrew Symonds, Brad Haddin (wk), Shaun Marsh, David Hussey, James Hopes, Cameron White, Brett Lee, Mitchell Johson, Stuart Clark, Nathan Bracken.
Bangladesh squad is: Mohammed Ashraful (capt), Mashrafe Mortaza, Shahriar Nafees, Tamim Iqbal, Raqibul Hassan, Shakib Al Hasan, Alok Kapali, Dhiman Ghosh (wk), Mahmudullah, Abdur Razzak, Shahadat Hossain, Farhad Reza, Mehrab Hossain jnr, Nazmul Hossain, Dolar Mahmud
This should be a very easy test at home for Australia against Bangladesh but lets hope they can show some fight.

Expect Australia to whip them and Watson to be best allrounder of the series!

Just what will the bangladesh lads learn from this tour. Getting hammered pretty badly won't do your confidence any good I reckon.

Why has Ronchi been dropped? He played really well in his last game and I think he should have been given a longer run. Haddin didn't look convincing in the West indies.

yes, i'm surprised too that Ronchi has been dropped!!! thats being a little too harsh on him. i also wonder why Nathan Bracken, who is and has been arguably australia's best ODI bowler over the last few years not being given a chance at test level.

Ronchi is not in the squad becuz Haddin is back and Dips Australia do not drop a player after few bad games and Haddin did a decent job. They Pick one player and than they let him play for a long time. Haddin has been waiting for along time for this it will be shock if they dropped him. He will play for another 3 or 4 years till than Ronchi will get few games but after Haddin retires he will be replace him.

Bracken has been tried at test level and been found out big time he just doesn't have the pace or swing with the red ball that he gets with the white, he'll never play another test for Australia.
I am surprised that Shaun Tait hasn't been picked and as for Ronchi I believe that he is a much better player then Haddin but like someone already said the Australian Selectors don't like to chop and change too much they tend to be very loyal and Haddin has been waiting for awhile to get his chance but should he not take it expect Ronchi to be next in line.

I'd play Ranchi over Haddin in ODI's. Ranchi is as devastating as Gilly with the bat it seems and his gloves work aint bad at all. Maybe you all can trade him for Ramdin if you all don't want him.

Brett Lee out of this series not that it will matter much the thing I can't believe is Brett Geeves has got the call up in front of Ashley Noffke and Doug Bollinger very weird selection if you ask me. Even Ben Hilfenhaus can't get a look in.

d-day looms for Bangladesh ironically i give them an outside chance in the first ODI they may catch Australia napping like they did in England in 2005 hopefully not though.
I hope Shane Watson stars and i really sincerely hope the tigers put up a great fight and don't get trounced by massive margins.

dips he has come with the AUS 'A' team to IND and will be playing against IND 'A' and NZL 'A' next month. i have a feeling that if he does well he could be a member of the squad on AUS's tour to IND in OCT.

Instead, they were bundled out for 74, a record low in ODIs for them, Australia winning the opening match by 180 runs. Symonds has been sent home, though - no news as to the details as yet. No Ponting, Lee, Watson, Symonds, or Hayden today - still no worries for Australia.

Symonds had gone fishing, as a result of which he missed a compulsory team meeting, which is why he was disciplined. Apparently the meeting was called after he'd already left, so it appears to be an accumulative thing rather than this one specific incident.

Well in the end the Aussies proving too good for bangladesh. Bangladesh just didn't have the good constistant batsmens to do the job, Against a fast athletic Aussie field. All the young aussie players stared. What about Brett Geeves performance as well?
Congratulations on Cameron white's best bowling
performance, in ODI's-3/5.
Speaking of Aussie sucsess, Congrats to big Buddy Flanklin, too for his 100th goal in footy! (If your in australia you will surly know what I mean, It was huge 100s of people charged onto the ground!))
Any of you Aussie's out their Hawthorn fans? You'd won't to be right now-Wouldn't you?.

So both the Sydney Warriors have now been disciplined but at least harbhajan was not sent home because he is not a keen fisher I guess! Did 143no accompany Symo on his fishing trip??
Dismal performance by bangladesh after having done really well to restrict Australia to 254. Shaun Marsh and Hussey were really good and it was nice to see the Aussies getting them all out without Lee and also without Bracken taking any wickets. 3-0 whitewash is on the cards so Symonds can enjoy his fishing..

yes JP that "somehow" seems very far away, i still believe that their weakness is their batting, i actually rate mortaza, shadat and razzak quite highly, shakib is also a very fine bowler, their batting needs some consistency, esp at the top, someone needs to be with tamim and get them off to good starts, from then on the likes of ashraful, aftab, shakib can do a lot of damage.

Their batting needs some consistency ??? Can't agree at all with that comment Sam - Bangladesh are consistently awful.
These mismatches really irritate me , I prefer Eastenders to this rubbish!
