If the ball passed the batsman above his shoulders in his normal stance, then it's a no ball, if it was below then it's a fair ball.

Takes some doing to 'get under' a ball hitting your stumps - I think you'll find it's a full tossnot a beamer.
When you win the toss - bat.
If you are in doubt, think about it - then bat. If you have very big doubts, consult a colleague - then bat.

Above the waist will be considered as a Beamer, hence it will be called as a no ball.

Incorrect!

If the bowler was judged by the umpire to be a fast bowler then it would be a no ball, but for a slow bowler a no ball is call above the shoulder.

I think he is talking about a slower ball yorker that Chris Read ducked that hit his stumps, should be able to find it on you tube.

Surely by definition it is impossible to duck under a yorker?

What 'thing' - could you be slightly more specific, or is it beyond you?

If a ball hits the stumps directly its not a no ball, so no matter how the batsmen evaded it, under, over, besides, along, behind, beneath, around ,towards, bacwards, etc etc etc, he is out by cricket law.
so far so good!

I have to disagree there wiseguy, I know it's unlikley scenario but if a ball is lobbed high by a slow bowler and it's passes above a batsmens shoulders in his normal stance and lands on the top of the stumps, it is a no ball. The old donkey drops we used to call them, not seen very often these days.

But initial question was regarding a beamer, and obviously if a ball hits the top of stumps straight, its not a beamer, not a no ball and the batsmen has to go back. IF I remmeber exactly the ball is declared a no ball once it has passed the stumps without hitting them offcourse!
so far so good!

Interestingly I wondered how the ruling would be if a batsmen charges down the wicket three or four steps to a bowler, and he scoops the ball very high but it lands before the stumps and hits them.
so far so good!

Well I imagine it would be the batsmens shoulder height from the crease so as long as it loops down before then it might be acceptable, I wouldnt want to try accuracy with a ball like that however.

Or perhaps I was sharing that joke with someone I find quite funny but whom I didn't realise would be too thick to spot it %20...%20Shift+R%20improves%20the%20quality%20of%20this%20image.%20CTRL+F5%20reloads%20the%20whole%20page.

In all seriousness, if you are suggesting I have ever done that I would like a link to the appropriate thread, as to my knowledge it is not the kind of thing I do.
