I really shouldn't be the one saying this. but: Back on topic. Best Batting-Wicketkeeper, not an argument about bowling. I know this led on from what we were posting about certain players being harder to keep to but this ain't half gone on a tangent.

When you win the toss - bat.
If you are in doubt, think about it - then bat. If you have very big doubts, consult a colleague - then bat. |

It has nothing to do with speed, spin, swing, or whatever, the stock ball is the ball that is most used by the bowler, his standard delivery.

When a spinner is considered, which way he turns the ball is the most important charchteristic. That depends on which way he turns his stock ball. The standard delivery for a offie is the off break, let it be 45mph one or a 58mph one, it is still the off break and is the stock ball. |

He could become one of the best but he's got a long way to go before he reaches the likes of Sangakarra and Gilchrist.

yes, but time is the only telling factor to whether he is going to be good or great. You never know, injury may severly impede his career etc.

He has got to walk before he can run.
I can see him doing quite well against the Aussies and the Proteas.
I can't see him making massive scores in India though.
The one thing England must not do is create this huge hype about him and pile the pressure on him.
Nobody questions the fact that he's got the talent, but using it sensibly and making scores consistently is something that will only come with a lack of pressure and more time on the international stage.

Jones started brightly and then plummeted. Let's hope Prior doesn't do the same.
Read is an absolutely infuriating enigma. He has ability but always seems to underachieve. I've spent time racking my brains and can't figure it out. Maybe it's pressure or a lack of confidence but I just can't figure it out.

Don't forget fellas that Prior at current is facing probably the 2nd weakest bowling attack of the test playing nations. As madmaxx said, wait until he meets the other great bowlers to determine whether he is great or not.
