Bond took a hattrick today against Australia. I think it was good because Australia were cruising along looking to make over 300, then Bond took over and grabbed 3 quick wickets to leave us at 8/289 from the 50 overs.

That was a good hattrick, he got Symonds and White, who are both good wickets

it wasnt a good hattrick. The shots that got Symonds and White out were just jokes. I admit the Bracken ball was good but it was by no means good for a hattrick.

Charl Langevelt's hattrick vs WI in the 3rd ODI in 2005. Not the most respected batsmen in the world, but under the circumstances, it was classic.

WI were 281/6 chasing 285 with 8 balls to spare.
Ntini got Browne with the last ball of the 49th over.
WI picked up singles off the first two balls of the last over and were left needing 2 from 4.
Langevelt picked up Bradshaw (b), Powell (b) and Collymore (lbw).

Was a great performance, but for WI it must have been devastating to go from 281/6 needing 4 from 8, to being 283 all out.

The hat-trick I most remember is Harbhajan Singh's against the Aussies where he got Ponting, Gilchrist and Warne.

1. Pitches on off and turns in slightly, lbw would have been hitting middle.
2. Pitches on middle and held its line, it was a doosra and Gilchrist didn't pick it  lbw.
3. Fired it towards leg stump, Warne flicked it on the full, short leg took a sharp catch (this was a close decision as the umpires at first werent sure if it was a bump ball)

Totally agree. The wicket of Adams was a soft push to bat pad and looked very soft too but it was a well executed plan as that is exactly where McGrath percieved his weakness to be. As always, Pigeon out thinking his opponents.
Judge the player not by their stats, but by their opposition.

I cant see how you can say that it is "EASILY" the best ever. It was against a very mediocre english side and he was bowling to tail enders. McGrath took 3 top/middle order batsman who were all very good batsmen including Lara for 300. They do not compare.

Definately up there! It had some good players in it and at a time where the game was totally out of reach, he gave them a sniff at victory. Good call Migara!

No doubt Lasith Malings, he got Pollock, the Hall, and then KALLIS and of course Ntini. No one will produce that if it means Kallis has to be the third wicket, not again.

Mighty good effort there- anyone who gets Kallis out deserves a medal.

I like Pathan Hat trick against PAK. It was swing bowling at it's very best! It's a pity he doesn't bowl like that anymore...... well, for India that is!
