JP, don't we already have a thread about the best keeper, and I think I made that one.

Anyway, I will say that it is Sangakkara.

Gilly.... Had a bit of a bad patch (dropping catches) during the Ashes.. but was back to his best Against ICC XI and the WI... Sangakarkara will overtake him soon though...

What do mean Sangakkara will over-take Gilchrist?

Boucher is the one chasing Gilly for the keeping records right now and he will over-take Gilchrist once Gilly is gone.

sorry... sorta didn't make myself clear there... Boucher is chasing down Gillys records... but i think Sangakkara is the 2nd best keeper behind gilly... any guy who keeps to Murali has to be an excellent keeper... when gilly retires which i think will be sometime and the next 2 yrs... Sangakkarra will then be the worlds best keeper

You're right. Any keeper who can keep as well as Sangakkara does to Murali, is a good keeper.

I go with Akmal because he keeps to Akhtars thunderbolts and his dribblers

Akmal is a good keeper and he is young too, but I wouldn't say that he is the best.

But Sangakkara is also an outstanding keeper. He keeps to Murali, imagine how hard that is.

We are talking about the best KEEPER not the best BATSMAN/KEEPER,the keeper with the best keeping skills is Sangakarra,to keep to a guy like Murali is outstanding, but Gilchrist has to be good to keep to Warney!!!!!!! But my vote goes to Sangakarra!!

I think Sangakkara has an edge over both of them. Gilchrist is the best keeper-batsman ever, but we are talking about keeping only and right now Sangakkara is the best keeper. Sangakkara is also a fine batsman. Sangakkara keeps to Murali, that is a hard task.
