For most effective yet unorthodox batting stance I cite probably the greatest Batsman to grace the game (yes I know we are all meant to hail the Don, but in my opinion he was second best) Gilbert Jessop. (By WG)

This one got me laughing.

County Sim on extended break until I've got less work and more free time. When I have a specific date, I'll post it in the thread.

Before or after you looked up Jessop in your who's who Statsboy?
When you win the toss - bat.

Listen WG, I agree with minimurali that you do talk a lot of sense but whenever I ask you a question about something you've said or criticise something you have said you are extremely rude and I'm not trying to get on your nerves or anything. I'm just wanting to learn more about cricket. It's nothing personal. Calling me statsboy is a bit immature. I have not seen a lot of cricket as I have only been playing for 18 months so sometimes I have to look at the stats to have an opinion as I have never seen them play. Another thing, I read a lot of cricket history books and they contain many primary sources and that is how I often make opinions on subjects in cricket.

So to sum up I am sorry if I have offended you but please try not to be so rude whenever I ask you a question. I wouldnt criticise you if I didn't want to know your opinion on something.

My apologies 70DS - but taking the p*ss is not seeking opinion - your comments about Grace refers.  One reaps what one sows, something you would do well to learn - or to put it another way ....... don't dish it if you can't take it.  Now I am happy to leave well alone, I'll point you at this thread the next time you rip into me without reason, ok?

Closed so that everyone can cool off.

This is meant to be a re-post thread, not a squabble room.

For the time-being, PM me with any good quotes to include.

Re-opened.

Please simply re-post, funny, original, interesting quotes - don't use this thread to wind people up or continue feuds.

venom2011 : I doubt they can bowl SA out for 120, but any international team has a chance of winning if it has a great day.
Even the Bangladeshis beat Australia

143no : Even more remarkable, England beat Australia.

That is my all time favourite without a doubt.

The entire post is quality but I thought I'd put my favourite part here.

I would like to take this opportunity to point out that Shane Watson is a Queenslander.

I am probably the proudest Queenslander alive despite living in Tasmania!

He is a fantastic cricketer and will be a rigid member of Australian cricket (whatever discipline) for many years to come.

QUEENSLANDER!
