Topic: Bowlers and their bunnies Posted: 16 November 2005 at 3:07am |

I have seen this article on how many times a batsmen has been out to one
bowler. Atherton has been out 19 times in 17 matches to McGrath! He
also takes places 3 and 4 against two west indian bowlers. You can see
the list on cricinfo if you want. Who do you thing the modern bunnies are
against certain bowlers in recent times? Strauss out to Warne is one,
although they've only played one series against each oth. Mcgrath getting
Kallis or Fleming out is another one that comes to mind.

My two favourite Batsmen:
Jacques Kallis is a very solid but destructive batsmen and not to mention he can bowl as well.
I also like Michael Clarke for his amazing batting talent at such a young age

A bit tough on Strauss there Cap !! He did get out to him and looked all at sea early on in the series - but he made two centuries as well , the only player to do so.

Fair enough. It's not as bad as Daryll Cullinan. He proabably never made a
hundred against aus while warne was playing. What are other people
opinions on bowlers and their bunnies?

A 'bunny' is a batsman who one bowler gets out frequently. Mike Atherton was always called McGrath's bunny as he got out to him 19 times in Tests. And so on and so forth.
Flintoff has a couple of good ones recently: Gilchrist and Lara

Wasim Akram's bunny was K Srikkanth. Wasim took his wicket 9 times.

Mine was cullinan against warne,he was completly all at sea against him,I think that Gillesspi had a period there where the little master was his bunny for a while, he just kept getting him out time and time again,I also reckon that if i was bowling my little googlie leg breaking inswinging reverse swinging top spinners ,i would have nearly every batsman in the world as my bunny,in back yard cricket when i tape up the tennis balls no one,,,and i mean no one can face me,i also make regularly 100 runs,so i guess im an all rounder, mind you the kids i play against are only 10 or 11,but you can only play against who is put in front of you at the time.
ps,check the stats, you will see i havent never been dismissed by a test bowler, and that is a fact.
