A few international batsmen at the moment could hit a 22 ball hundred against the bowling attack Bradman faced. Yes, Bradman was a good player - but as Sledge said the bowling attack was - in theory - a hell of a lot better for Barry Richards' triple century in a day. A very good achievement - but it could easily be achieved again if someone like Ponting played against a similar attack.

County Sim on extended break until I've got less work and more free time. When I have a specific date, I'll post it in the thread.

OK, I'm not at all convinced that 22 balls is the fastest century ever scored in ALL forms of the game. For example I've umpired two D-grade "bush cricket" games where a team has taken 700+ runs off 50 overs.
To be fair, these are concrete pitches, and the grounds are so small that the striker is closer to the third man boundary than he is to the non-striker. I don't remember many non-boundaries either, and never anything more than a single.
Also, I've hit 11 sixes off 12 balls before, and in the right circumstances it's no big thing. I was coaching my Under 11 side and the time had come to demonstrate to some overly cocky bowlers that they still needed to practice in the nets, despite taking easy wickets the week before. We were on a primary school ground, so a six was probably barely 30 metres. I was never a skilled batsman either, but a small ground plus poor bowling and it isn't that hard.
Play on a proper ground (the type used for B-grade and above) and against B+ grade bowlers, and sure, now you're talking a major achievement.

Yeah, Bradman didn't do it against that kind of crap manning, it was a domestic game, I think

it was a second class game which is still 75mph bowing. He played on a
proper ground with normal boundaries. To say this is not an
unbelievable achievement is naive and dumb.

W.G - his reply wasn't abusive - this thread was rather abused by fishcake so I ended up deleting more posts than I meant to.

It seemed so to me, perhaps not abusive - but repeatedly taking the p*ss is surely not desirable?

Well he's pretty big, apparently he's gonna try and lose weight because it'll help him throw the darts better, like to see that happening

Maybe only international career. Also he only played tests. Dravid has only 14 sixes (in tests) in this age of cricket.
Another astonishing fact is Don got 7 ducks in tests while Dravid has 6. |
