Cricket Bat - Front foot big hitter.....

Hi,

I know there are a few bat topics already. However, this one is hopefully more specific.

I bat about #7. Am an all-rounder. I tend to be a big hitter.

I am very strong on my front foot (relative to back foot) and look to score most of my runs off my front foot.

Having said all that. I need a new bat.

Any suggestions? And I don't want custom made.

Good suggestion. Perfect for our home games as we play on a combined pitch so are not allowed to use covers, so low bounce most of the time.

After some more reading.. am currently considering:

GN - Longbow, Millenium

Matrrixx Terminator (however can't find a website to customise. I am 6'3" so will probably go for LH)

GM - Hero

Any others that have a mid to low sweet spot ?

Does anyone know where I could "try" a bat ??

Never heard of anyone doing it with cricket bats, but I used to "test drive" a tennis racket by the week whilst deciding which to buy.

At globe you are not alowed to try before you buy are you? I have used there bola a few time though a good laugh, although there is a very annoying metal pole above the crease, watch out when your going for hooks! Ballistic does sound like it suits you, i would reccomend the 4000, from what I've heard you can get decent willow in the 4000.

Parker, have you been to globe? you seen theyre phoenix bats, i used to have one.

After finally gettting to a shop and lifting a few bats. I realised that there were a few that were much alike and it made my decision even more difficult.

So, although I originally said I wouldn't go for custom, I ended up buying a Millenchamp and Hall Solution. They were having a sale on bats of 2lb 12 +. And although not being female, paying £200 for a bat worth £250 was hard to pass up.

Why did I change my mind? Firstly, I wasn't impressed with the quality of a Woodworm I was looking at. Second, the Powerbow (which was in the lead) was not so nice at the heavier weights. Lastly, the Ricky Ponting Kooka was difficult to get in the exact spec, that I required. Also, the GN bats were £20 more than the M&H.

Awaiting delivery, will tell you how it goes, should get it before nets on thursday 6th april.

matrix bats are gud aswell, the make bats for all sorts of players,

e.g if you don't like a model such as s-10, then they will custom make you an s-10, they have loads of bats, visit theses

the puma bats have a nice low middle, especialy the ballistic, also the woodworm wand does.(that is if you can still find one)

go to a cricket store and have a look around, even if you dont see the exact right bat you can still compare prices and such with those you see on the internet.
