I finally finished my season with Somerset, with us romping away with the County Division Two, and winning the Twenty20 Cup with innings from Langer winning us both the semi-final and final.

Six batsmen got a double century, John Francis got a couple and Charl Willoughby finished top wicket-taker. Twice we chased 400+ and won. From memory, I think we had two draws, the rest were all wins.

We were pretty useless in the one-day stuff, but I don't tend to fuss too much with that.

caddi£k is to retire though, so I'll have to recruit well for our Division One assault. Trescothick made a miraculous recovery and has yet to miss an England game, so hasn't played for Somerset yet.

From JP's review and some scorecards posted by Freddie, you have convinced me to buy!! Once again great work!

Did you buy it in the end? If so, what was your opinion.

I made some great signings for my Somerset side. In came Jason Gallian and Ben Hutton to strengthen the batting and Kabir Ali and Heath Streak replaced the retired caddi£k.

Unbeaten in all competitions so far, just completed a crushing innings defeat of Surrey.  :-)

I did and at a reasonable price of $20 AUD. I must say as a vivid ICC supporter, it took a couple of days to get used tot he idea and concept of the gameplay. The animation was an exciting and interesting bonus to the game although do get a little tedious after you see it a few times. I also like the fact that you don't have to constantly keep clicking the mouse to bowl. The scoring is actually rather realistic, and the auto play feature is very useful. It takes longer to get through a game then I thought it would but I must say, in my books it's a surprising sucess! Such a simple gameplay! I think the Cricket Coach series is underated with ICC always beings the big shadow in which Cricket Coach is always seem to be under.

For the price of just 20 dollars, it is seriously worth a buy! Considering that ICC3 is worth about $70! Overall I give it 8.5 out of 10. Fantastic stuff I'm starting to get hooked on it!

The patch for the CD version can now be downloaded from www.cricketcoachgame.com

* Added code to ensure you can't be bowled from a wide ball
* Fixed bug where ground pitch conditions were being reset to incorrect values if a player resigned and hadn't tailored pitch (contributing to very high scores)
* Lessened effect very hot weather has on ball quality
* Fixed rare bug where saving the game before a ball has been bowled in an innings resulted in every following ball being a dot ball
* Fixed bug where player caught on the boundary and was out, but also got six runs.
* Fixed bug where player fitness was updated after the first ball of a session, rather than during the lunch/tea break.
* Made is so players fully recover fitness during lunch and tea.

For any Australian out there who have been waiting to play as an Australian domestic team, Cricket Coach have launched a free download-able version available through this website: http://wwos.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=339820

Unfortunately this is only the Ford Ranger 50/50 version not the Pura Cup. However it's definately a plus to see a game that has Australian teams after being dissapointed with the orginal Cricket Coach 07 and Cricket Captain titles. It takes on the orginal format of Cricket Coach. It definately has very limited game play which does have a learning curve to overcome if you aren't familiar with the Cricket Coach structure. The game features 2D overhead action, a comprehensive database of players, the ability to change your pitch to suit your team, updated records of real life achievements and the overall competition to become the greatest manager. For anyone think of downloading, bare in mind that you may get bored rather quickly but if you've been waiting for a chance to take control of an Australian domestic team like I have, then it may last a lot longer than it should. Plus it's free!
