Since my real life pies killed my performances here, i'm hoping my just started pre season 'prehabilitation' programme might lift my performance back up.

After this innings we're going to spice this thread up a bit and reunite its interest.

I'm a fan of samhache's T20 tournament idea in the short-term and would then like to continue the 1st XI conquest of world cricket.
Good one Graham!

What a dominating performance by the 2nds! Just too good in the end.

Is it possible to see averages for the series, MP?

P.s. - thanks for tiring me out in the nets, Inswinger. After that net session I was forced to down a few.

Yeah we could go ahead with it, it'll be something different. However, I'm not too sure how the bidding etc will work due to the timezones of members. Mp, any ideas??

I like the idea.  Bondy seems a terrific captain, I wanna play under him.

There are quite a few things we need to work out.

I'm considering starting a new thread for this to see if we can get some new members into the simulator, however if we don't get enough support for it then we should keep it in this thread.

Should we use the same format as the IPL (8 teams with however many players in a squad) or should we make our own format? Concerning the players, will we use the players in the IPL or should we add more of our own choices? The bidding will be tricky. The only way that I can think of would be to do a silent bidding sort of thing where captains PM how much they are willing to pay and the highest bidder wins.

What does everyone else think?

I think 8 teams is too many. Maybe restrict it to a lesser amount to begin with and if support increases then team numbers can follow suit.

We should make our own format, the actual IPL seemed to go on forever, a simple round robin system should be a winner (or is that what the IPL used?). Silent bidding sounds good.

Other issues to consider:

- salary caps for each team?
- icon players?
- Team names!!

It would be awesome if we could get this off the ground! So, I'll mention it in the shoutbox for all newish members to take note of.

I think the silent bidding way is the best way to do it. Four teams each playing each other twice would be satisfactory and a complete list of available players needs to be made.

I don't think icon players are needed, only a team captain who bids on behalf of the team. The team captains can be CW players and respresent each franchise.

Anything else?
Good one Graham!

That sounds good Bondy. Yeah a player list needs to be compiled, how about every player whom currently plays in each of the test playing nations plus all forum members?

E.g. - All of NZ, all of England, all of Australia etc etc

Captains can pick a name for the team and then bid on players of their choice.

I nominate Bondy, MP, Myself (haha) and Spinny for captains....
