1st slip, in old fogies cricket - you must be joking. I field wherever I fancy. Our captain (my son) usually gets us in the middle then says 'spread' ...... as long as when we stretch our arms out, our hands can't touch - he's happy.

When you win the toss - bat.
If you are in doubt, think about it - then bat. If you have very big doubts, consult a colleague - then bat. |

I get 0.8 catches a match and I have not dropped a single one this season. Seriously, where do you field? 1st slip I'm guessing?

I too recorded a duck this weekend, but alas it was rather more than my second in 15 years.
I bowled nicely though and had figures of 11.3-2-33-4 |

It is with much sadness and regret that I have to report the most shocking happening last Saturday, my second duck in my adult playing career and my first for 15 odd years. I managed to chop on the third ball I received from about 4' outside off. Needless to say I have booked myself in for a sound thrashing from Mistress Punisher, a well known local service provider.

You won't take my advice with the bat, no wonder it's the same.

Today's game - I only scored 3 before I played back to a short ball that never got off the ground. Bowling wise I was 7.3-1-34-2, notable for taking 2 for 0 in my second spell after taking a bit of tap in the first. |
