Other than that I can answer specific questions but check the FTP forums for tips first. There's a lot of stuff on there to help out newer players. And I'd also advise getting a mentor. There's a lot of very good mentors to help out.
Another important thing we need is your team name or manager name so that myself and others can find your team.

In the cup I've made it through to round 4 of the Pavilion Cup, where I play against I win away. They beat Aces XI (the 68th seed) today and pull in over 100k in ratings.
Both our teams are spin based and I have the edge in the seam department so I reckon they'll look to pit their spinners against mine. That would suit me just fine to be honest.

Thanks tyke i will do that..
but one question if i spend nothing on both my academys.. zero investments will it affect my training?
if i don't spend nothing at all will my players still get training?
please answer cuz if thats the case then that means i was wasting my time on the academys.
cheers

Just had a last ball tie in my Twenty20 game today against the only other human managed team in the league. I needed 17 off the last over to tie and my keeper Gentle (posted above) hit 3 fours off the first 3 balls,he then got a 2 and a single before new batsman Massey hit a 2 to get the tie.

Not really, but it would be great fun

Had another good win for my Youths today, got ratings of 48000 which is another fairly substantial improvement and as nearly all of my first XI are 16 it can only improve from here. Best player on my team was my youth pull Ghopallawa who made 26 off 27 balls and took 4 wickets.

I got absolutely demolished by monty today, only making 149 and losing by 10 wickets. That's a lot better than his Battrick team did against mine though (about 40 all out I think) so I don't think it's that bad a result really.

Am going to continue training his bowling for the remainder of this season, then will probably concentrate on his endurance and power for a while, and maybe his fielding too. Will then get back into training his bowling up. Will hopefully turn into a ripper for me.

He's looking to be a very good player for you. It's a shame that currently his fielding is so low, and his secondaries too but that's fixable.
If he had higher secondaries the AUS U19's manager may have added him to the squad, but that may be a blessing as having NAT players can be a nightmare.

Got a few decent pops today myself. This one on my South African U19's player is definitely a good one:

 01. Brett Scannell
Player Details
Team (Youth) Lotton Celtic, South Africa U19 Talents Sturdy
Bats Right hand batsman Bowls Right arm Finger spin
Wage $3,176 Rating 35,877
Nationality South%20AfricaThis%20player%20is%20a%20member%20of%20the%20national%20squad South Africa Age 19
Form reasonable Fatigue rested
Experience average Captaincy average
Endurance reasonable Training Fitness
Batting accomplished Bowling poor
Technique capable Power average
Keeping poor Fielding capable

Back to work on his fitness and then will give him a bit more fielding, to assure his place in the SA U19's squad for the rest of the season and the U19's World Cup.
He's pretty much guaranteed to be the best fielder in South Africa's U19's squad, but I think he needs some more just to be assured of it.
Besides, I'm the 8th best fielding side in the FTP rankings. I want that number 1 spot.Big%20smile

He'll need a tech pop and a bowling pop before the end of the season to have a chance I reckon.
But Sri Lanka's quite a small nation in regards to player numbers so anything's possible.

Thanks for the advice, i thought he might be worth a go with his prodigy talent.

Edit: just had a quick chat with the SL U19 manager and he does have a chance, whether he gets in or not though, he'll still be a great player for me though I would think, or I could sell him, how much would I get?

Great pull Slogger, his power has to be a massive bonus for you, got to love that. Don't think any of my kids have come out of the academy with power and fielding that high, definitely a good thing for you.

If any of you guys are interested, I've got this young fella on the market:

NineTenXI >> Shane Ridings >> Details

Player Details
Team (Youth) NineTenXI Talents Sturdy, Gifted (Fielding)
Bats Right hand batsman Bowls Left arm Medium
Wage $1,672 Rating 28,633
Nationality New%20Zealand New Zealand Age 17
Form capable Fatigue revived
Experience dreadful Captaincy reasonable
Endurance ordinary Training Batting
Batting reliable Bowling dreadful
Technique average Power ordinary
Keeping ordinary Fielding average

In desperate need of some cash so figured I'd try to get it all done in one fell swoop. He's going for $105k atm, though of course I'm hoping for a bit more than that. Will be a very good player I'd imagine.

He definitely looks a good player Braddles. I'd also post him up on the FTP forums in the transfer adds section.
It'll get noticed more there and you'll get more for him.

He's definitely got the foundation to become a superstar player and it wouldn't surprise me if he breaks the million $ mark, especially if you can tempt Eggy, Knights and those like them.

If the price is still low tomorrow I'll have a look into buying him. I'm down on funds at the minute due to buying a player not so long back.

Young Reid has had a tech pop since I posted him above, but the best came today when his bowling popped to expert Big%20smile

Exciting times, but I'll need him to perform well as my youth team has been decimated by player ageing. Ended up with nine players becoming part of the senior side, so I only have 13 players in my youth squad not one of which is a wicketkeeper. Looks like I'll hafta hit the transfer market...

He looks a magnificent player. One thing I'd advise is getting his Endurance and Fielding up. The fielding will help close the gap between Bowling and Technique. and the endurance make his bowling much more effective as he won't tire quickly.

I've got pretty lucky with Youth Promotions this season. Most of my bowling attack is still in tact after only one bowler that played promoted. That was a RM bowler, meaning that my strongest youth bowling attack will look like this:

Dale Steyn (RF)
Piet Rosenberg (RF)
John Forsaith (RWS)
Pediya Gazali (RFM) / Wayne Claassens (RM)
Anargha Ullas (RF)

Not bad at all I reckon. I just need a left handed bowler I think, to add some more variety.
The funny thing is that they can all bat a bit as well (Ullas and Claassens have more ability with the bat than others) but the only player in my XI this season who can't is my wicket keeper.

I feel pretty confident that with a couple of purchases to bolster my batting, I'll win the Youth 1.1 title this season.

With my Seniors I'd be happy if Scannell doesn't get picked for the Senior National squad, and if Donald is dropped from the squad as I have problems when he goes on tour.

My current bowling attack is:

Allan Donald (RM)
Garth le Roux (RFM)
Andrew Spry (RFS)
Patrick Ryan/Dread Romeo/John Tabart (All RWS)
Shaun Pollock (LM)

I have recently though being playing a 4th seamer rather than the leggies and that's worked well. All depends on pitch I guess.

Are you entered into the Cup this season Braddles???

I had a great first season in FTP, suffering only 4 defeats and 2 ties, all against the other human opponent in my league who was much better than me. I got promoted from my T20 league ahead of him, which means I'm in 3 for this season, and I could well get promoted to level 2 as my league doesn't look that difficult. I should go up to 3 in OD and youth next season as well. Finally I got 600K in prize money, I'll probably spend some of that on a new batsman for my senior side, then save the rest up for later.

Im in SA OD league 2.1 rhis year, in 3.something for 20/20 and 4.6 i think for my YOD, Im really going to have to push hard to avoid relegation in OD, although I should get a comfortable promotion in 20/20 and YOD

Not a bad pull for 23K in my youth academy, get his fitness to average first then a bit of bowling tech, and then bowling for quite a while...

Also bought a player for 400K a few days ago, Ill stick him up...
