I don't know about the best but their gear is expensive.Probably need to sell their bats at exhorbitant prices to fund their huge and very costly endorsement programme.

Mark.

They're not the BEST. They're decent, but not the best.

I think that Gray Nicolls is great for pads. All of my cricket gear is a mixture. Here they are:

Kookaburra Diablo Gloves
Gray Nicolls Matthew Hayden 380 Pads
Gray Nicolls Helmet
Gray Nicolls Box
A bat from India called the BDM Sting, packs lots of meat on it and is very light. (For me anyways)
Kookaburra Cricket Balls and a SGTEST cricket ball made in India.

GM are rip off merchants. Sue me. Warnester ask your dads mate how many "GM sponsored players" actually use GMs.

to Shoaib_UK

i spent a day in opel sports warehouse in South Africa, they are GM agents and therefore supply all their sponsored players and schools and shops!

all the bats their are sent straight from the gm factory in Nottingham, people like gibbs and smith etc have their own mods their bat shapes, but still made by gm!

they have only ever had one case of a player not using their bats, but after as little as 2-3 games, they made him use their bats based on a morale basis as they didn't want to basically lie about what products their players use!

Thanks for the info, crick. There needs to be more transparency all round though.

i really rate the GM pads and gloves, and like the purist and hero bats, but prices are a bit steep, maybe they should not sponsor as many players, so that the price goes, down, i think gm should only really focus on players such as Vaughan, Smith, fleming, tres, and aim for people like kallis, this would mean only the best players in the world use the bats, and the prices would go down, i dont see any point in them sponsoring so so players, as we all know about gm now! so all in all i think they are/were quality, but prices are going too high for quality!

to Shoaib, yes i agree that there should be more transparency, such as e.g. you buy a Orig LE, you should be able to choose the exact shape of a pro, this would help prove that GM makes the bats!

boo ha ha!
