I recently bought a masuri after several years of using a poor quality helmet. Its the old style masuri but i went for this because i heard the new style in a junior size was not that great.

A quick Masuri review:

Comfort
My initial experience is that it is very comfortable, by far the most comfortable helmet i have ever used.

Fit
I've had trouble in the past finding a helmet that fits me perfectly. The Masuri helmet fits very nicely. The way its designed means it adjusts to your head size and therefore gives a close to perfect fitting.

Weight
Everyone i've spoken to has said the Masuri helmet is the lightest around. Perhaps they mean the new style masuri helmet?!? I'm not saying its heavy but it could be lighter. A titanium grill would fix this but at around £50 its not cheap.

Vision
As a batsmen its vital you have good vision of whats coming down. On first sights the Masuri seems quite good. The real test will be when i start playing in the nets and when i use it in a match. But for now no complaints.

GM have a strong presence in the helmet market and they offer titanium grills if required.  Not sure if they have 2008 stock available yet but may be worth considering.

i've had my masuri for about 3 years, they are very light, but make sure you buy the titanium grill, its more expensive but its like wearing nothing on your head!
not a fan of albion, too big heavy and look like flower pots!

I use an albion c&d and have found it is extremely safe.

The pitches here in Thailand have an unexpected bounce so the ball can stay very low or bounce up and knock your head off (even when spinners bowl on some pitches). I have got hit on the head quite a few times but never felt anything.

Have been using masuri until i discovered Albion's new 98 original helmet and replaced the new guard with my old masuri titanium one. The result is an equally light helmet, great vision, safer and comfortable(better padding), much cooler, 100% better sweat absorbtion at the front of the helmet and yet cheaper at $55 Aud per helmet with standard faceguard. If you want to replace the guard as i did, the Masuri titanium is the best one around and they will set you back around $100 - 115 Aud. If better vision and cost are your only priority then I reccomend the new masuri steel face guard which is still relatively light but more importantly it has the exact same design as the titanium one.
