Hey guys
I played a match against some lads from England on Thursday. I bowled 5 overs with figures of 5-0-18-0. And after my spell my back started to hurt. My friends and teammates said I shoul get sports skins and that wouldn't have happen is that true.
What do you guys think. Cause I'm worried I may never bowl again. Edited by young shiv - 22 February 2009 at 6:43pm |

I think never bowling again may be a bit dramatic shiv, I occasionally get aches in pains in all kinds of places, including my back, they always go away (they'll probably come back to haunt me when I'm older but oh well).
I'm not sure how much help skins would give for that kind of thing, I wear mine and while it helps a bit with aches and pains, I still come off the field after bowling or keeping with aches. I also wear one for hockey, but that doesn't really help my back at all, it still aches afterwards. I would probably get a proper back support if I was you, if it's serious anyway Edited by slogger72N/O - 22 February 2009 at 7:13pm |

I would try warming up properly before the game with proper stretches, then doing the same as a warm down afterwards, which is likely to do far more for you than some piece of clothing.

Clobber is spot on the money here. A warm down is very important from my experience. There are times I warmed up but still felt sore like next day but when you warm down, that hardly ever occurs.

In troubled times, being philosophical helps a great deal, it helps you to remain sane and not do any further damage.
