Think this meeting will have a place in cricketing history. Loads of new rules and important decisions being made. From the implementation of DRS with Hot-Spot and Snicko-meter being made compulsory for all Test series with the Hawk-eye ball tracking being optional based on the consent of the two teams in a bilateral series.

Also plans of having two new balls in a single ODI game from now on. And both the bowling and batting power-plays to be taken between the 16th and 40th over I hear.  Runners gonna be done with. And qualifying process for the 2015 WC being mulled over.  The structuring of the FTP between 2012 and 2020.

Lots of big and crucial decision that could define the future of the the game.  What you guys think. Interesting times!!

DRS being accepted ... well finally, but with Hot Spot in place and Hawk Eye made "optional". So at the end of it all it will affect other boards (financially) a lot more than the rich BCCI! LOL One thing I cannot understand though is that they are considering reducing the number of wrong reviews in ODI's to 1, now you spend so much money to have technology in place and the moment you get one review wrong all that money becomes useless, ridiculous!!! LOL LOL LOL I think they need to reconsider this and if anything the number of wrong reviews should be increased.

also I'm very happy that they have got rid of the "Runners" rule, I very often felt people used to take advantage of that rule as more often than not I used to find the "Injured" player, forgetfully, run faster than the runner. LOL

not very happy with the two news balls per innings rule there, one from each end but considering the result of the tournament this rule was used last time, which was the 1992 World Cup, I don't mind this! Wink

lastly the FTP, well not at all happy with India and England not hosting Bangladesh and Zimbabwe over a period of 8 years!!! (how fair is this???????? in a FTP teams are supposed to tour every other country once in 4 years) but then I think ENG and IND will lose out more because of this than ZIM and BAN because I'm absolutely certain that both BAN and ZIM have a very bright future ahead of them. Thumbs Up

Well Sam the FTP drawn is one which isn't set in stone. It can be altered in the future like it has been done on numerous previous occasions. Think Bangladesh at the least would be getting a lot of Indian tours in the coming years.

As for the runners tweak Im not too sure about it. With the amount of cricket being played these days a lot of batsmen are gonna end up with cramps , a pulled muscle, a twisted ankle or even a some other kind of freak injury. Where does that leave the batsman when it happens in between an innings. In cricket unlike other team sports the option of substitution in between a match aint there so why not atleast a substitute runner.

That rule as of now is on the trial run and is to be tried out in the domestic circuits for the moment.

Latest news is that 14 teams for the 2015 WC. Back to square one. 12 team would've sufficed, I thought. Hopefully, you never know , the Associates could improve a great deal in four years time.

Yes the two bouncer per over rule is on trail and will be used in domestic competitions.

I'm absolutely delighted with the associates being included for the next world cup, we will get to see the likes of Ryan Ten Doeschate, Tom Cooper, Trent Johnston, George Dockrell, Balaji Rao, Kevin O Brien, Collins Obuya and many more who set the last WC alight which is so good for international cricket. Fans like me who are supporters of the "Minnow" nations and love to see them do well welcome this decision of the ICC. Thumbs Up

I agree with V4P on the FTP though, it changes significantly over the course of time.

The turnaround allowing the minnows back might be the right thing to do , but for me it highlights the ICC's indecisiveness.

I second that thought . But I'm glad though that they got a lot of things right at the meet.

well my only point sledge is that when we have technology in place then why not make full use of it?

The ICC at it again!! This time reducing the berth for the T20WC from 16 to 12. One minute they increase the number of teams in the ODI WC and now this. Confused souls to me.  If at all they had to add more teams in an effort to globalize I thought this was the tourney where the playing field evens out a lot more than in the 50 over format, and its also the easiest format to garner new audience from countries where the game less popular.  Ruubbish!!!

Agreed - the messages coming out of the ICC are confusing. How can they encourage the globilisation of the game by reducing the number of countries for the T20 World Cup ?
