DOHA – In response to the spot-fixing bans received by the Pakistan trio of Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir, PCB Chairman Ijaz Butt handed out a life ban to the ICC.

PCB lawyer Sharif Qasim read out the following statement: “We have had enough of the ICC shoving their rules and regulations down our throats. From Saleem Malik and Ata-ur-Rehman to Salman Butt, the ICC have persecuted our players for no reason, other than the fact that they have consistently flouted their so-called ‘laws.’”

Shoaib Akhtar was seen nodding along in approval, currently awaiting the result of his fourth appeal to his 17th life ban.

ICC Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat remained defiant: “We are naturally disappointed at the PCB’s verdict. This is a disgrace – a conspiracy to defraud the ICC, if you will.”

Ijaz Butt was unrelenting in his criticism of the ICC: “They took the World Cup away from us. They took our players away from us. What next? Will you implicate the PCB administrators in some sort of scandal?”

Given his expertise on the matter, our sources understand that the ICC is currently seeking legal counsel from Mohammad Yousuf.
