Tomorrow sees the start of a 7 (yes , I said 7!!) ODI series between hosts , India and Sri Lanka. The visitors are ranked 2 in the world in this format and will be out to proove their worth.
Good news for the locals - Sachin Tendulkar makes his 1st international appearance since breaking down with an elbow injury. Rahul Dravid captains the side in place of Saurav Ganguly. I'll take India to win 5-2, which shows how much I think of the rankings! |

As we know, I am really hopeless at predictions, but I think Sri Lanka are going to be too strong for India so I'm going to go for 4-2 to Sri Lanka with one game tied/rained off/abandoned.

After 22 overs India are 146-1 !!!!! Sehwag out to Vaas for 20. Tendulkar 66* off 69 balls Pathan (yes Pathan!!) 50* off 41 !!!! Great start by the home team - even Murali can't stop the flow having bowled 5-0-28-0. Interesting ploy of moving Pathan up to pinch hit - useful cricketer , this lad !! |

Tendulkar goes for 93 , brilliantly caught by Sangakarra , diving to his right. Still , great news for all Indians and for cricket - the lil master is back !

errrrrrrrrr I'll take that last statement back !! Vaas launched for 6's by both batsmen in an over costing 16 runs and the 1st ball of Fernando's over also clears the ropes before he gets his man next ball !!

Very solid performance by the captain takes India to an imposing 350-6 !!
Dravid 86 off only 63 balls - he can do it when he wants to! Needless to say , if Sri Lanka are going to have a sniff here they need one of their flying starts from Jayasuriya and company. |
