I don't think there is a test series any time soon because I checked on cricinfo and it doesn't say that there is a test series between India and Sri Lanka.

Definitely a Test series coming up between these two, so I'm moving this to the current series forum.

i think india still have the upper hand. sri lankas confidence will be low and they dont have jayasuriya. so india still can win this series too.

Actually Jayasuria says that if he comes back he will come back in form and he says he is ready to play.

Yea, if Jayasuria returns in form and ready to play then there will be competition and it won't be one sided like the ODI series which India dominated.

Yea, that's the fact. He's been dropped and probably won't be coming back. He's 36.

How can someone like Dravid be 'not a legend' but at the same time be 'equally amazing' ?

Yea, that doesn't make sense. If dravid is equally amazing as a Gavaskar and Tendulkar, than he is also a legend.

Anyway, onto the games themselves and more excellent scheduling from the Indians sees the Chennai game almost certain to be washed out (or at least no result produced) due to seasonal monsoons.

Rubbish.

They should look at the weather conditions before scheduling matches for certain dates.

ya i know. but if we r lucky then it might not rain. right now it does not look like it is going to rain. dravid may or may not be a legend. i made a mistake. wat i meant was that he is not a legend but he almost a legend.

According to the weather reports I read, the forecast is for thunderstorms on all five days of the Test!

Great, that's going to be so exciting. Waiting for a match to start that we know won't start.

You can't be serious!! The tour schedules are worked out MONTHS beforehand , you can't wait for a break in the weather and call the Sri Lankan captain and ask"Hi Marvan , you fancy a test tomorrow , the weather forecast is wonderful , jump on a plane and we'll see you at 10am !!"

No play before lunch on day 1 of the 1st test - rain and bad light as forecast. The cyclone over the region doesn't look like moving away anytime soon which could make this match something of a damp squib.

Cyclone Baaz (great name that!) has won the day in Chennai and washed out proceedings for the day. That's three successive matches lost to rain in Chennai - that's terrible luck for the locals and the players.

This is Ganguly country and so it's still not known if he'll be picked for this clash. If he is , one of Yuvraj Singh or Mohammad Kaif will miss out.

The sacking of Pro-Ganguly Selectors , Pranob Singh , Gopal Sharma and Yashpal Sharma by new president Sharad Parwa suggests Ganguly's test career might just be over. If it is there could well be demonstrations , even walk-outs by the paying public in Chennai.

Wrong. The series' are scheduled years in advance. The exact dates are set months in advance. And I knew that, but isn't there any technology that can tell them the what the weather will be like in some months? I guess there isn't because then they wouldn't set matches on rainy days.
