That could have something to do with your age, and a very narrow usage of the internet!!

That figure is an estimation, and a dam good one if i say so myself, as you are unlikely to have an internet forum without some sort of moderator, ESPECIALLY if under 18's are using it...

Inzy is in prime form his short innings which had a wonderful strike rate in the ODI showed how good he still is, Inzy is not only fit to play but the best man to captain our team up and until the wcup, i think after which he will himself call it a day. Sitting on chair and typing about someones career is far easier than doing what cricketers like inzy do, go out thier do what they do best.

Compare him with Andy Symonds who is super fit. Andy fields well and a part time bowler. But when comes to batting see which one of them spends more time at the crease. And when Inzy was in Symonds age he could hit it more harder than Symonds. So he may not be fit, but he has a superhuman strength, where he can clear any ground in the world. And even the quickest of runners still don't chance his arm as well.
Don't argue with fools. They'll drag you down to their level and then beat you with experiance

Ironically enough I wasn't being sarcastic.

I know how draining I find batting for any length of time, and I don't bat anything like the periods Inzi bats for, or indeed in such heat as he would do most of the time.

For me he can still do a terrific job internationally, as he showed with some superb performances in the tests recently.
County Sim on extended break until I've got less work and more free time. When I have a specific date, I'll post it in the thread.

Being a healthy 18yr old I probably would beat him in a bleep test but the point stands he is actually made more of muscle then fat i'd say looking at him and knowing other people of a similar build, he has always been like that its not like he has just suddenly started eating a few too many pies. As it is cricket is one of the few sports where you can get away with being a bit on the hefty side, you can bowl spin and bat easily enough. As for fielding alot of it requires judgement and concentration as well as pshyical(sp?) fitness.

Then again anything a yard either side of inzi is going for 4 ;-)

Inzy has been one of the best pak slippers for a decade now, he is also good at close in positions. And even super fittern players cannot spend the tim he spends at the wicket or score the runs he has. I agree with cobbs and wal bada.

A ridiculous thought for me. He's been over weight for years and it hasn't stopped him being world class. Why does it effect him now!?

I think its  a gud topic .I feel that the man's grown old and that hunger to play is not there in Inzy now It seems he want to drag on till the World Cup .I feel reducing the burden of captaincy will help him and it will help him more now that there is a crisis surrounding him .

I would suggest only one thing for any player, his performance in the matches he plays, and if he can contribute in his department he should play! and the same I would always say for the longest dragger in current cricket little master from big india, though he struggled in his last four or five come backs, then struggled even in attempts to come back, but if he can contribute even half of what we know of the great man he would also be worth gold for india in the WC 2007 as would be inzi, Lara, or Jayasuria for their respective sides!
so far so good!

I think Inzy would find it impossible to lose weight the guy is running through the wickets up and back 20 times a match over 15 years and all that sweat?

I would ask does he need to reduce his weight, a player with average of 50 in test matches and 40 in ODI, strike rate of 75, with 35 centuries and 125 fifties, who has been consistant, leads the team excellently, holds his catches well.

I dont see any changes negative in his performance so far to suugest any change, infact he is as good/bad as a fielder or runner between the wickets as he used to be ten years back, but he has improved as a batsmen immensly in the last decade, and most importantly his record as the most valuable player for his side is better than any player in the world.

What a player with what ever dimensions he has, certainly God has made him equal to two average players half his weight!

Just view the hafty records of a heavy weight!

class  mat  inns  no  runs  hs  ave  bf  sr  100  50  4s  6s  ct  st
Tests   113   187   20   8498   329   50.88   15661   54.26   25   44   1073   47   79   0
ODIs   367   341   51   11549   137*   39.82   15475   74.63   10   83         106   0

so far so good!

Just to add on this is what Imran has to say on Inzi's future, please bear in mind Imran has been a greatest critique of inzi for some time now,

Imran also disagreed with former captain Rashid Latif's comments that Inzamam should retire from Tests and concentrate on ODIs in order to extend his career. "He still is the best man to lead as he is the best batsman around. Inzamam needs to formulate things and needs to have better planning while playing international cricket and results will be better."

so far so good!

Maybe the greatest obese player of all time definately in Pakistan's time?

I remember Imran Khan called for Inzy to be sacked as skipper against the aussies on tour in 2004-05 but Inzamam turned it around with some great victories and some sensational form of his own.So without a doubt he is still good enough to playn and fit enough.
