JP Just to remind you, we had decided that my home stadium will be Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, and not Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai... I hope that is fine.

Press Release
fans of Freuchie from all around the world are very confident of Freuchie winning the trophy this year with a squad boasting youngsters and some very talented batsman aswell as bowlers. Freuchie have purchased a very good and balanced squad here they have alot of middle order batsman too choose from with Shah, B McCullum, Kallis, Sangakkara, Sarwan, M Clarke, Hildreth all looking for a place in the middle order from 3-7. They also have 3 all rounders including Kallis with Yasir Arafat and Graeme Swann the other two.
Some have been saying some of your team are too inexpierienced too handle this type of cricket would you agree??
" I suppose that they are inexpierienced. Mark Davies, Imran Tahir, James Hildreth and Graeme Swann have all played very little or no test cricket at all but that doesnt matter as all have proved themselves very well at First Class cricket."
Who do you think will win the title if Freuchie were not to? In other words who is your biggest threat?
"I would possible say Blackpool or maybe even Carribean theyre middle order will be hard to get rid off with Pietersen and Chanderpaul in there. and like i said Blackpool with players such as Flintoff,Tendulkar and Brett Lee."
Are you happy with the squad you have?
"Yes very i think we have alot of talent and we are almost assured to habe a strong lower order down too 9 or 10. we have some big names like Sangakarra and Kallis which can only be good for the clubs reputation so overall i am very happy"
Can you tell us any information like the starting team or the captain or vice captain?
"I wont tell you the starting team as i want to leave that until we see who our first game is against but i will tell you are captain for the season is Ramnaresh Sarwan with Sangakarra as vice captain"
from an online poll took by over 5000 Freuchie fans this is what they're average starting eleven came out as
1.Simon Katich
2.Marcus Trescothick
3.Ramnaresh Sarwan(c)
4.Owais Shah
5.Jacques Kallis(bowler)
6.Michael Clarke
7.Kumar Sangakarra(+)
8.Graeme Swann(bowler)
9.Zaheer Khan(bowler)
10.Umar Gul(bowler)
11.Imran Tahir(bowler)
----------------------
12.Yasir Arafat
but we will of course have to wait till the fixtures are out till we find out the real starting eleven.

NZF today released a short statement, welcoming the lastest, and final two players into his squad. "Rodgers provides experience, both on and off the field, as well as providing competition to the other openers in the squad." And on Chawla, "Chawla is an exciting young player, who can provide with both bat and ball. It was felt we needed a leg spinner in the squad to take advantage of different pitch conditions."
The finalised squad is Bond, Ponting, Sidebottom, Dhoni, Ryder, Misbah-ul-Haq, Ntini,
Maharoof, ten Doeschate, Panesar, Jaques, Hodge, Gibbs, Prior, M Patel,
Prince, P Harris, P Chawla and Chris Rodgers.

15 man squad named to play against Melbourne: Jaques Gibbs Ponting (vc) Hodge Prince Dhoni (wk, C) Ten doeschate Patel Panesar Ntini Misbah-ul-Haq Sidebottom Bond Chawla Maharoof I'll go with the assumption everyone else is making and go with me playing at home. I'll take a 'whatever is one step up from green pitch' wicket, with fastish (4?) bounce and medium (3?) speed outfield. I'll have to think about aggression.

With the frightened Canterbury Crushers unable to decide their first XI The Melbourne Masters quickly took the initiative and anounced the team to play in the opening round:
1.G.Smith(c)
2.P.Hughes
3.F.Alam
4.S.Badrinath
5.Yashpal Singh
6.A.Rashid(b)
7.T.Taibu(wk)(vc)
8.P.Siddle(b)
9.D.Nannes(b)
10.N.Bracken(b)
11.M.Muralidaran(b)
This is what Bladescape had to say:
"Smith,Hughes,Alam and Badrinath were a premeditated top 4 because of their undoubted ability.
It was a hard choice with the number 5 and 6 spots but in the end I decided to test out Yashpal at 5 and slip Rashid at 6.
Taibu couldn't be left out because he is my only keeper.
Siddle was chosen because he was my icon player and I'm going to give him at least 1 match,so he better hope he does well!
Murali was another premeditated spot, but the other two were difficult choices.
I decided to take two pacemen so Mishra was out,and I didn't need Southee in there so it was a choice of which of the three left armers were in.
Bracken was on the top of the list,so it was in the end between Nannes and Parnell.
Nannes won in the end because I wanted to check him out early before it became a need to win match."
One last comment he made was:
"I'll probably be cycling through my team for the first few matches to check out the talent I've got, then again, maybe I won't! "

Team selection:
Jaques Gibbs Ponting (vc) Hodge Prince Dhoni (wk, C) Ten doeschate (4) Panesar (5) Ntini (1) Sidebottom (3) Bond (2)
NZF released a statement a short time ago via his public blog, finalizing the team to take on Melbourne. "The only real issue I had selecting this team was whether to include a spinner in the team. In the end, after brief discussion with the captain and vice-caption, it was agreed that with the bounce the pitch is likely to provide, a spinner could be a useful attacking option, despite the green tinge."

Thanks spinny. Green track fast up.
Press Release Green track not a worry. - Ganguly
Sourav Ganguly, the KKR skipper said on tuesday that a green track won't be ringing alarm bells in his team.
Ganguly was quoted saying : "The pitch has a tinge of grass in it but that should'nt be a worry. We have got a good line-up and the pitch should be ideal for our medium-pacers like Vaasy, Bose and Franklin. The batting is pretty strong and hence we have are pretty confident about our chances."
On asked about the Caribbean team Ganguly said, "They have got quality players in Sehwag, Styen, Chanderpaul and KP. Their batting is very strong. We will need to get Viru out early because we all know what he can be capable of."
Ganguly also said that he is delighted to be playing competitive cricket again. "This is as good as test match cricket. Its going to be a real test of skill. The most important thing will be to get the team going together. Mixing with players around the world is always helpful. I am delighted to be playing with Rahul and the other guys again."
He also said that he and Rahul will be looking to carry on the same partnerhsip. "We have had a great time together and it feels great to be leading a team with Rahul as my deputy. We have enjoyed a great rappo and we will look to do our best for the team."
The team manager dips_december announced his team for Thursday's game against the Caribbean. Brendan Nash edged out Laxmi Ratan Shukla. The rest of the line up is pretty much according to what was expected.
Gautam Gambhir Alastair Cook Rahul Dravid (vc) David Hussey (6) Sourav Ganguly (c) (5) AB de Villiers (+) Brendan Nash (7) Chaminda Vaas (1) Daniel Vettori (4) James Franklin (3) Ranadeb Bose (2)

Trust me,I know Badrinath and Yashpal Singh have good averages and I'd guessed that no-one else would go for them so I left it until the end to pick them.
They'll do fine! (You better do well,Badry and Yashpal! )

Press Release:
Spin Wizard announced that the arrogant Kevin Pietersen will lead his side in their first clash against the Kolkota lads. "We're hoping that his personality will show up in the way the guys play, and that means no mercy when batting or bowling. It's gonna be a lively wicket and whoever wins the toss, you can expect to see them bowling first. Nonetheless, we're not scared of batting first, with the rearguard of Chanderpaul to defy any bowling in whatever conditions you throw."

This is what Monty has asked for:
| hard pitch, good for batsman and fast bowlers |
Check the first post in the thread for who is managing who, and there's no obligation for him to tell you who is in his team!

Ok, I guess i'm hosting you slogger! a very warm welcome to Hyderabad, India.
JP - My pitch will be more favourable for spin but NOT a dust bowl, I'd like to have a of level 2 on a scale of 5 (5 referring to a green pitch, 1 referring to a sharply turning track), The out field will be of level 4 on a scale of 5 (5 referring to a very fast outfield) bounce will be even level 3 on a scale of 5 (5 referring to high bounce)
Here is my Line up:
Salman Butt
Hashim Amla (vc)
VVS Laxman
Mahela Jayawardene (c)
JP Duminy
Jacob Oram
Kamran Akmal (wk)
Shakib al Hasan
Stuart Broad
Harbhajan Singh
Jerome Taylor
Bowling options
1- Taylor 2- Broad 3-Oram 4-Harbhajan 5-Shakib (1st innings)
1- Taylor 2-Broad 3-Shakib 4-Oram 5- Harbhajan (2nd innings)
If I win the toss I'd like to Bat first.
All Batsmen can bat at the default level of 5, except for Oram and Kamran who will bat at a level of 6. and yes Harbhajan will bat at a level of 7.

Press Release:
on the eve of their first match the manager of Hyderabad Victors team, Mr. sam_ahmed has said that surrey sloggers are a very decent opposition with some quality players in their side and it should be a very good test for his team first up. on being asked about the threat of Ajantha Mendis on what appears to be a track favourable to spinners, Mr. Ahmed was quoted as saying "we are not concerned about any one or two players, yes, Mendis is their trump card but we simply cannot neglect their other options. our batsmen have prepared hard to face Mendis and most of them are very fine players of spin bowling, infact it'll be interesting to see if Mendis can face the challenge of bowling to the likes of VVS, his own capt. Jayawardene, Amla, Duminy and co."
All we can say is, this first encounter promises to be a thriller at the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium.

I want Gayle to bat at 8 level and others at 6 level in bowling i want Ojha to ball at 10 level others at 6.
Shoaib and Malinga to open the bowling and bowl 5 overs each then Watson should bowl 7 overs and Johnson 4 overs then Ojha to replace Johnson and bowl 10 overs and then Jayasuriya and Gayle 3 overs each and then Shoaib to bowl 3 overs and Johnson 7 overs then Malinga 5 overs Ojha 10 overs and in the end Watson should bowl 8 overs.
