I have found that for excellent batting practise, having someone hurl a cricket ball from a lacrosse stick is extremely effective as it gives accuracy and extreme pace...its cheap too if you dont have someone to bowl at you and cant afford a bowling machine :) anyone else done this?

Lacrosse is the game with stick and its got a hole in it and  you have to try and catch the ball in the hole...... it's a rough explanation! LOL

A lacrosse stick has a net cup at the end to catch and throw the ball.

To throw/bowl the ball, you need to sling the lacross stick over your head, forcing the ball out. It sounds, like a good invention. I'd like to know what speed it can generate though. How much are lacross sticks?
