I'll give you a couple of days, though there is not reason why you couldn't just post them in the cricket bat sticky thread

Hello All, I'm from dallas, and play club cricket here over the weekends. Never really played serious cricket while in india, but ever since i moved to the US, i seem to be playing a lot more cricket than i ever did! 1) Which L&W bat do you own? 2) Did you get the carbo handle or the oval? Why did you pick one over the other? Any comments/opinions/experiences from those who have played extensively with both would be appreciated. Pros? Cons?
4) What profile did you get? Why? I am getting the special profile that they have, combo of bowed and classic.
Nope. I do the knocking myself, following the instructions given on their website.
I had initially bought the LW special that could be bought from their dealer in canada, the cricket guys. That bat was said to be made especially to suit the NA fields, with their ultra slow outfield and everything. While the quality of the bat was awesome, i found it to be way too bottom heavy. And having been blessed with weak wrists, i simply couldn't play on the off side with that bat. My cricketing shots were restricted to just hitting in the V. So i sold it and ordered the carbo. So far i'm very pleased with it....though i've to admit that it took some time getting used to the stiff carbo handle. I normally like the "spring" feeling one gets when you hit the ball...and there is no such thing with this bat. But once you get used to it, its all good! Here are some pics of the present carbo bat and my previous "special".

hi, im considering to buy a normal l&w heritage as they look really nice with there profile and the wood but with its performance... Does it still come of relatively well no matter where it hits the bat like of course no toe of a bat is going to be like a sweet spot but does it jar and is the wood really soft??? thanks

Got my L&W Heritage in the mail recently. Oval handle, got my sweet swot normal to slightly lower, weight 2'8 and the blade 1/2" shorter (and thus the blade at SM prices!).
Haven't really used it in a game yet, but feels pretty good. Still not used to it though as I was using a monster of a bat before. I intend to compare it with my mates similar priced GN Fusion which he got at the same time. Hope that my feedback will be useful to people like MAcCa who are thinking about L&W. Will try and get some photos up at some stage for those who would like to see more L&W photos. |

Slayer, please do upload the pics of your bat.
I too have placed an order for a carbo heritage bat and should be receiving it soon. This time around, i've gone for a bat that has a decent amount of wood .. weighing abt 2-11. I found a picture of sachin's bat, and sent it to LW asking them to use that pic as a sort of blueprint !! Would be interesting to see what they come up with.

Here's my new heritage carbo bat. Weighs abt 2-11lbs, super short handle, 1/2" long blade, with slight bow. In order to preserve peace at home, i had laver wood knock the bat. I've not had a change to try it out at the net yet, but it sure feels nice in my hands!

Well, from what've read online, knots or butterfly stains do not have any affect the playing of the bat at all. From the throw downs i had last weekend, i felt that the bat played very well.

I've always been told they were bad and I always look for a bat with no imperfections. Its probably best to ask a batmaker anyway

Heritage are usually made of first two grades. The regular carbo bats are generally made of G3. |

they start at .5" at the top, and measure 1.25" at the thickest part of the bat, and tapers to .75" at the very bottom.
Its taken me a little while to get used to the weight for i've been using very light bats till now. This one tilts the scale at 2lb 11oz. |

Ok finally I got the pics uploaded to my computer
...sorry for the delayhere's the bat with the new look. After the pics I tell you why I did this, kind of stupid but oh well on to the pics.... ![]() ![]() ![]() Ok now the stupid story is I am a KP and Flintoff Fan. I was torn between buying a Woodworm Torch premier or get a custom made Laver and Wood. So I went with L&W and for my own satisfaction changed the stickers. Anyway what do you guys think? |

nah I am going to leave it like that. I love this bat though, I played a couple of 20-20 matches before the season got over and the pick up and bat speed is awesome. |
