Do you think that for the match threads, that the threads should apply for one match, and not for the whole series, as you end up with threads nearly 100 pages long otherwise. For example, the current matches board could consist of this for a normal series, I've just said New Zealand and Pakistan for random, but do you reckon it should be done like this:
New Zealand V Pakistan (pre-series thread)
New Zealand V Pakistan (1st Test)
New Zealand V Pakistan (2nd Test)
New Zealand V Pakistan (3rd Test)
New Zealand V Pakistan (Twenty20 International)
New Zealand V Pakistan (1st ODI)
New Zealand V Pakistan (2nd ODI)
New Zealand V Pakistan (3rd ODI)
New Zealand V Pakistan (4th ODI)
New Zealand V Pakistan (5th ODI)
New Zealand V Pakistan (Tour Matches)
New Zealand V Pakistan (post-series thread)
What do you think of that, having threads for each match, and then locking them at the end of the games, and putting up the new ones, so it saves the hassle of 100 page match threads all the time?

1) I don't think we get enough discussion on each game to warrant a separate thread
2) The Current Matches section would become an horrendous mess, especially when there are several series going on. 3) When does analysis of one match actually become a preview of the next one? 4) Everyone would be racing to make the 'next' thread in the series, so we'd end up with duplicates. 5) Having separate threads for test and one day tournaments is possibly feasible, especially for those like the CB Series where an extra team is involved. 6) The World Cup will be a bit different - for the timebeing, I'm thinking of having topics per group, then per super 8 etc, but if need be that can be split down into sub-forums with each match having a thread. That sounds confusing freddie, and we'd only get about 10 posts on each one

That's around 12 threads a series!! Way too confusing IMO.
The World Cup idea is interesting, I'm betting people will have plenty to discuss!!

Yeah, the world cup thread would be way too big if it was all one thread, virtually every active member will be posting

JP's right , separate threads for individual matches would be
chaotic. Does it matter if a thread has 100 pages , regular
posters only visit the last couple of pages to catch up anyway.
