Aussies will win it easily India have alot of good batsman but they dont even have a single decent bowler and SA's backup is not that great.

All well, at least with Stewart getting a game my club gets to put another player name on its NZ representatives board.

Aussies have Lee, Nannes, Johson, Tait for raw pace then the likes of Harris, McKay, Siddle, Clark the more line and length bowlers and the swing of Hilfenhaus. Put in Hauritz, Smith and Krejza and you have 3 bowling line ups right there. Hodge, Ferguson, White, Paine, Jacques, Rogers and you've got quite a competent 2nd xi. I'm sure there are more batsmen blazing runs out in Aussies. Surely, they'll beat the likes of West Indies, Pakistan, NZ.

You've missed the new contingent of 19-23 year olds who have had marvellous summers this season. Some of the new fast bowling talent is to die for, I am quite certain that we'll see some really young faces in the side soon. It also looks like Xavier Doherty is becoming a preferred spinner ahead of Krejza for Tasmania, he's bowling much better.

What do you think of the Khawaja fellow? I reckon he has a good future.

Khawaja is pretty switched on, he seems like he has a good head on his shoulders. NSW have Khawaja, Smith and Hughes all around that 20-21 years of age mark pretty much making all their runs. Khawaja has an interesting background and seems quite motivated to do well. I can't see him playing tests straight away, there seems to be a tendency from Australia selectors to pick batsmen when they are a bit older. This is changing however with Smith and Hughes getting selection.
Looks like George Bailey, Callum Ferguson, Smith and Hughes will be the 4 main guys getting chances at tests after the current 6 being used.

I rate Ferguson milky, looked pretty good in the few ODI's I saw of him before he got injured I think. For a small (thin) guy, he can whack the ball.

There are at least 10 batsmen and 10 pace bowlers not in the Australia ranks who could become international standard. Even out back up keepers are second to none, we just need more spin bowling depth. No doubt about it.

Wow, Aus 231 all out ... , but NZ will be 131 all out and conceed 100 runs lead , Auss will pile 300+ in second stint and win the series 2-0 . I hope my words does not come true , but Bollinger, Harris , Jhonson and Hauritz are too good for impatient Taylor,Guptill and Brendon.

For sure Aussies are not losing this one - consistency is what will cost NZL the game.

NZ only get 30 odd ahead , with Taylor making a Sehwag-esque ton and scoring half of NZs runs. Australia have now levelled the scores with no wickets lost, so basically the match is dead even. I expect a big one here from Shane Watson and I think NZ will be chasing at least 300. Luckily for them Taylor scored so fast so there's so much time left in the game. Albeit, Harris, Bollinger and Johnson really do look like a world class pace attack, with assistance from Watson and Hauritz. NZ will have to be at the top of their game here because they actually have a very genuine chance at test victory.

Australia in control at 333-4 with both Clarke and North unbeaten on 42.Plenty of time left , it'll be difficult for the home side to save this one.

Two whole days left with North and Clarke at the crease and Haddin, Johnson, Hauritz and Harris the all rounders to come in. Should be a tough one for the Kiwis to win from here, their spin duo has failed. Katich has had a super match, while Ponting has had one which he'd like to forget. NZ are certainly missing Bond, and also Jesse Ryder with the bat.

Sure they are missing some players - but they are not as good as the Aussies. Full stop.
I do think that North is getting away with these scores made under situations of no pressure. For sure, he cannot get away with this for long - specially with the Ashes fast approaching.

I was impressed with North when they toured SA zuhair. Nothing flash about him , very tidy and knows his scoring areas.

It's a little worrying when your quickest bowler is the now aged 35 Chris Martin. He doesn't hit 145 anymore, hovering between 135 and 140 kph. I had actually had an interesting conversation with a previous rep team coach in the weekend about the lack of pace bowlers being produced. He said he saw plenty of 17-19 year olds who could hit 140+ kph, but they had the pace coached out of them through modifying their action to be more biomechanically perfect, or they just gave up because they injuries wern't worth the pay if they only made a domestic team.

In first class cricket there would probably be around 20 bowlers under 30 who can bowl 140kph plus. An abundance of fast bowling talent, look at Harris, came out of no where at 30 years of age and doing a wonderful job. The selectors could have easily picked from the batch of 20 year olds, but chose to hold back on them. It's tough for NZ because clearly with such a small pool of players to choose from you have little choice in picking guys like Arnel and sticking with your 35 year olds and squeezing the last big of effort out of them. NZ do very well with what they have, but I don't know what direction they're heading with their bowling. Southee is the only young talent in the bowling unit and he has been iffy at times. Signs aren't so promising for NZ with their fast bowling at the moment. Bit like Australia and spin bowling stocks.

Katich has been one of the most consistent batsman over the last 2 years, always get a good score every game it seems.
Taylor was good to watch, it was always on the cards that he would go after Hauritz. There is plenty time left in the game but the kiwi batting order isn't that powerful and Douggie and Harris are bowling excellently at the moment. Harris is the type of bowler I love to see - bustling in and sending them down at good speed with a front on action - love it!
