Hey, does anybody know much about the older members that were on this forum?

When I first joined, I didn't really post, but I remember reading a lot of comments from the old crew - "the bird", "vize" "saadadvanced7" and the like...

I know Sledger and JP are still here - and have been here forever too..

Also, could anybody (I'm assuming someone like -JP-) tell me about the origins of the forum. How it all started and that..

Cheers

Jon

See you later Gilly! Thanks for the memories!

Those three members pop in from time to time, but you're right, apart from Cricket World staff members (of which I am now one), only Sledger and myself are consistently posting who were registered in 2005/early 2006.

This forum itself was started in November 2005 as part of Cricket World®'s ever-continuing expansion. First foray into being more interactive.

There was an earlier forum, but it was very different, more like a comments page on a blog and that had a lot of problems with abuse and such like, which was why CW decided to go with a more up to date forum.

We've undergone a few changes since then, obviously myself, Sledge and Clobber being taken on board to oversee things and a whole rebuild in November along with the site.

Yeh, I was a member back in April 2005 and it was so much different, and I popped in from time to time back then.

I referred the site to my mate Mik and he joined when the site became more modern.

I must say though, there really were like one or two comments a whole day sometimes - if not none back then.

I have seen many forums online - this is probably far and away the best. It is organised well, and with the addition of more moderators it has been cleaned up well - and also looks good.
It also looks like the bias we had before, particularly with South Asian members is not that present, thanks to filtering, and there are so many UK members now who regularly comment!

See you later Gilly! Thanks for the memories!

Do not accuse me of such mental illnesses. I have met a few people in my time working and also being a patient in a hospital with this illness.

Please do not loosely use this term,

I am not miniwarney - I went to school with him, he is 3 or 4 yrs younger than me, my friend's little brother. I speak to him a lot, he is good to me. Why do you constantly assume that I am him - we have similar views but that means nothing.

For God's sake. Ask Sledger even.

Yes I think we have lost a few members but the good thing is that the forum is still the same. New members keep popping up everyday which is good for the forum.

Clapo moved onto another cricket forum as he got sick of the number of muppets we had on this forum at the time. Happily we've got rid of most of those now.
