No need to single me out tonks, we all make mistakes.
Anyhoo...while most people are saying Hayden and Murli I think Hogg has a strong case for player of the tournament. Talk about consistentcy. He has been excellent throughout. Good on him for proving many of his pre-tournament critics wrong.

Bit touchy today Bondy??? Whats bothering you? Its not the fact you got thumped in the semi and your captain resigned is it????

I'm a big fan of his and often like to think of others that can be rewarded for their success apart from the main few. In my opinion he is very, very underrated. |

I do agree that he is under rated. Michael Clarke is also one of the "others" who seems to go un noticed. Over 400 runs and has the highest batting average (for a batsman) of the tournament. These are huge contibutors but as i said, consistent and magnificent are totally different. McGrath's record for most wickets in a WC, Hayden 50 runs away from breaking Tendulkars record for most runs in a WC, Murali's sensational bowling statistics, these are what i consider to be magnificent and should win the MOTT because of these brilliant efforts and the others are worthy of a mention and that's about it.

Guess will have to wait and see then. I'm not saying Hogg will get it, in fact I don't think he will, but I think he should've been top three along with Hayden and Murali. |

I think the man of the tournament is decided differently. I am seeing something about points thing and McGrath is leading the hunt with Jayawardena behind him. I just think right now, it should be between the 2 Aussie blokes. If mahela makes a ton in the final then yeah, he could get it as he has been superb in most of the super 8's to now.

In troubled times, being philosophical helps a great deal, it helps you to remain sane and not do any further damage.

Well a winning hundred from Jayawardena wll make him MOT. A sawashbuckling 150 from Jayasuriya will also do the same. But in reality it is going to be Hayden, McGrath or Murali.

Mahela with the sort of form, is also a contender, Malinga bagging five in the match can get it, Hayden needs just a fifty, macgrath only 3 wickets, so a lot in the running for the player of the tournament!

Suprising that Hayden didn't take out the award considering he was just unstoppable throughout the tournament. according to cricinfo he wasn't dismissed inside the first 10 overs once throughout and scored not just off bad deliveries but also off good length ones too which is why he was so devastating.
