I’m writing to
inform you about a cricket fans campaign I’m involved in called Testing Times. Our aim is to
find 28,000 people – the number of people who would fill Lord’s Cricket Ground
– to sign our petition to show that people care about Test match cricket. Our long term goal is to persuade the ICC to ensure the protection of Test cricket by granting it greater emphasis in global schedules. However, our interim goal is to persuade the ECB to add an extra Test to next summer’s key clash between the world’s top two nations, England and South Africa, this a concern of some the top International players like England captain Andrew Strauss, which shows this is a problem that has to be taken very serious before it creates new ending damage to the world game. Please find attached, full details of our aims and objectives as well as our proposed 2012 schedule. Our petition can be found http://www.facebook.com/testingtimes and a Twitter account, @TestingTimesXI, which we’d be delighted if you would follow and retweet. We’re only a small group, dreamt up and created by genuine cricket lovers with a shared concern about the future of the great game of Test cricket. It’s vital that we get the publicity and support from well known and influential sports journalists such as yourself, so anything you could do to help promote our campaign would be hugely appreciated. Your support in this would be immense – if you could put your name to our campaign I know we can get the numbers we need and maybe more. Many people want to see Test Cricket live on, with major series given Icon status, so Please, Please, please sign up to this test cricket e-petition and share this test cricket e-petition around the cricketing fans around the world - friends, family, colleagues, Facebook groups, Twitter followers . . . everyone you know who loves the game of cricket. Every signature counts :-) Thank you! Follow Testing Times Here!!
