BUt folks 5 five years ago, no one was talking about Ponting at all, why?
In the 90's no one ever talked about Ponting retiring. It just shows he can't get rid of a great batsman because he is having a bad patch. If the AUstralian coach and selectors was thinking like some of you guys on this forum, 5 years ago ponting would of been out of the squad and you guys could of never be saying today POnting is the best in the world.

Just give Tendulkar a chance, he be back in the top 3 spots soon.

He'll be dominating the World Cup again, just like four years ago.

Oh dear LOL

It's always nice to be positive...
"His classical hits down the ground, met with a checked drive, were Tendulkar at his best. It was though he had a new lease of life." - Sachin Tendulkar's return to cricket with a 91-Ball century.

on the wisden cricket magazine it was said that sachin made a hundred from over 200 balls and his reaction was normal and the fans reaction was excelent but would the same reaction be the same if a young player got a hundred from just over 100 balls"

people are assuming sachin is going slow and is just playing to get his stats up i don't thin k that is true

he has genuine love for the mage!!

When u play a match against a team like Bangladesh, it's a wise move to take your time even if it means getting a 100 of 200 balls simply because it's bangladesh and their is all the time in the world to win the match.
Better for him to score slow now and destroy England next month.

Although it can be said that Tendulkar has lost his 'sting' but I don't think he has become that bad that he could be dropped out of the side. All Indian fans would be knowing that when Sachin gets going, India always have a very good chance of winning. Many great players have gone through such phases in their careers and have recovered well, and Sachin, being one of (or maybe the most) GREATEST player will definately recover well!

If he wants to retire then its his wish.Of coarse he will think well enough before taking any such decisions.

I think a man of his talent does not just "lose" their ability as some dare suggest. He's struggling to get going after injuries. He still posses the ability to rip apart attacks. The man still comands respect from bowlers simply by taking his guard.

In my view, with his record, nobody bar him should be able to choose his future. He's achieved too much to be cast aside.

BFM cheers, glad you agree.

I find the fact people even suggest he should retire embaressing to be honest, its disrespectful to the man, nevermind totally uncalled for as well.
