The only squad I'm happy with is the T20 squad with extremely talented players like Ahmad Shahzad and Raza Hasan in the side.

The ODI squad absolutely sucks it is the same old story of test players playing in ODI's and I expect pakistan to have a tough time of it should they play this team in ODI's. Only Good selection is that of Left Arm quick Rahat Ali, who I've heard is really fast.

Test team is pretty much fine because mostly all players have been doing well in test matches.

Absolutely shocked at the inclusion of Imran Farhat and Faisal Iqbal... I'm not all that surprised by Mohammed Sami's inclusion though because he has been doing really well at domestic level... however, Sadaf Hussain continues to get ignored which I'm not happy with... just give Sadaf, Shahzad and Raza Hasan a chance in ODI's and you'll never look back.

When things were looking good they again mess it up with a poor selection. I agree with Zuhair and Sam - Faisal Iqbal, Farhat and Sami are useless why they did not pick Yousuf or Razzaq is a mystery to me.

Rohit Sharma - What the world has seen is gear 1, gear speed 2,3,4,5,7,8,9 to be witnessed in IPL only.

Sami was 17th on the list of most wicket taken in the last Quaid e Azam trophy, the FC competition of Pakistan. That certainly does not merit his selection. Iqbal Qasim on one hand says to Mohammad Yousuf that you need to perform at doemstic level and yet he selects the non-performers Sami, Faisal and Farhat!!! He is going to ruin that team I am afraid.

Moreover, Raz Hasan is good but spin is not where Pakistan lacks at the moment. I would never drop Rehman in his pomp for a rookie like Raza Hasan.

Yes, Abdur Rahman is doing well but they've got in Raza only for T20's which is good Zuhair, it's good to plan for life after Ajmal and Abdur (although both may very well play until the next WC) and I think that Pakistan's spin future is in safe hands with Raza Hasan, Usman Qadir and Yasir Shah in the mix, Shah may not be that good a spinner but he is a good utility player much like Abdur Rahman.

Mystery's point on Yousuf and Razzaq, I think Razzaq hasn't really been able to perform last year and that is why perhaps they want to have Arafat and Hammad ahead of him, fair enough... Yousuf, yes, I absolutely want to see him in the test line up, but the question is who will he replace? The last test series Pakistan played, it was Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq who showed a lot of character and helped Pakistan win.

Its not about the playing elven - he should be there at least in the squad and can play according to the situation. On Razzaq, I still think he is way ahead of Hammad and Arafat - Razzaq did not perform much but he was hardly ever used properly. You don't send your premier batting all rounder at number 8 - do you?

Tis amazing that no matter how poorly Sami performs , he gets back into the squad !  It looks like whoever makes the selection committee , Mohammed Sami's name magically comes through.  Confused

Gul, Cheema and the newly picked Rahat Ali all pretty much bowl decent pace - only a few notch lower than Sami's. He is purely picked because Iqbal  Qasim is a guy from Karachi - and Sami, Faisal Iqbal and Khalid Latif all hail from Karachi. Its dirty politics back again in Pakistan cricket. Whatmore won't stay for long if Iqbal Qasim continues

It's in the best interests of the PCB to continue winning matches - in terms of fan support, sponsor support, team unity, morale in the dressing room and so on. That means picking your best team, based on future direction, form, technique and skill.

KP retires from limited overs cricket. that's a huge blow to England's chances to defend the World T20. Why the sudden move? A casualty of too much cricket?

I wonder if he's sulking over the 3000quid fine for his twitter rant about Nick Knight ?   He also made a comment that if the ECB didn't have a strict rule whereby a player making himself unavailable for either T20 or ODI's won't be considered for either format, he'd have been happy to play in the T20 world cup in October.
Strange timing , typical headlining by Pietersen and I daresay England will get by okay.

Talking of timing, James Taylor has it, picking today to make a terrific televised 115* off 70-odd balls for Notts to coincide with a spot opening up in the England ODI team. Most noticeably, he hit 7 sixes, a couple of them vast, which is not something you would normally associate him with.

Its gotta be a rush of blood by KP, ALA Shahid Afridi. I expect his retirement to be withdrawn in the future.  Is the English playing ODI's first thing next season? If so, then IPL may have something to do with it.

may be foolish of me to post this but I'll do it... I'm suffering from some skin pigmentation which I've noticed since last 1 week... last 1 month my skin was heavily exposed to the sun and as you know the sun is very severe in Indian summer.

I've developed dark patches on my forehead, my color since birth has been fair by subcontinental standards, rest of the face is fine, alhamdulillah, can anyone help me with this? esp since a lot of you play cricket and get exposed to sun heavily... just ways to protect yourselves... any suggestion would be welcomed... and of course your prayers for fast recovery.

That's a strange policy considering that the T20 captain is Broad and the ODI captain is Cook. A lot of internal inconsistencies coming from the ECB. ODI is very much distinct from T20, and considering the length of the game as well, it is a tiring format of the game when compared to T20. KP at the start of his ODI career had statistics better than Michael Bevan, now he barely averages 40. It's obvious why he's retiring...

Thanks Mystery, I've never had skin problems in my life, I don't know why it has happened now, I'm on medication and staying away from the sun as much as possible, using sunscreens, I'm even wearing face mask while going out. Will surely try applying Aloe Vera as well, some of my other friends too have told me it's useful. I'm also using Lemon as it is a good cleansing agent I've heard. Positively by God's grace I have seen some improvement in the last couple of days, request for your prayers.

Take it easy Sam, that even happens to my brother when he's in the sun to often, skin on his forehead gets darker.  Once you're over exposed to sun without sunscreen, you're bound to get darker (red if white skinned).

Is there any other side effect??

Protective measure, wear hats outside and drink lots of liquids.  I usually wear long sleeves during working hours, and also when playing games.  I use sunscreen as well, so I don't really get affected by the sun anymore.

First time i use to play without sunscreen, damn, when ah game was done, was sun burn in my backside and skin hot until I go to sleep.  Thank God for sunscreen!

Son of Matthew Maynard (former England cricketer), Tom, has died ahed 23 in a motor vehicle accident. He appears to have been one of the more promising English cricketers on the county scene. May he rest in peace.

Keep safe on the roads guys. This is starting to occur way too often now.

Vehicles are being built with a faster build up speed.  When you hear the sound of engine these days, it only tempts you to race it on.  I get tempted but luckily here, there are so many corners that chances of passing 80 KPH is very slim, only in a few places here you can pass that speed.

It is a tragic event - albeit seemingly not one that can be blamed on cars as it appears Maynard was on foot at the time of the accident and was hit by a train.

Indeed, such strange circumstances. Nonetheless, condolences to the Maynard family and other loved ones. Surrey seems to be somewhat cursed with these things
