One thing India will have an advantage over is that SA don't play the slower bowlers that good so part timers like Yuvraj could come up thrump, along with Jadeja and Harbhajan.

For me, the test will depend on the pitches.  If it's a typical Indian wicket, adios amigos SA.

Good chance for Badri. Seems like the likes of Kohli, raina and sharma are still no where in the reckonings.

Kohli, Raina and Sharma will be in the reckoning when Dravid, Sachin and VVS call it a day!

They would have made debut long time back if they had been in lesser batting prowess countries. Their time will come along with Manish and Pujara in due course of time.

It's very good that Badrinath got the go ahead, he deserved a place in Test side couple of years back, but such is Indian batting line up that even a player like Bardri who consistently scores big had to wait for so long.Hope he makes best use of it.

He will struggle against this SA bowling attack.

Rohit Sharma - What the world has seen is gear 1, gear speed 2,3,4,5,7,8,9 to be witnessed in IPL only.

I think Badri is a very god player and he will surely capitalize on his chance - Yuvraj is not a certainty in the test eleven and with Laxman nearing his end its a good chance for Badri. I am confident he will score big.

India have so much batting talent in the country. They could easily build world class batting lineups.
Its just the fast Bowling which hey lack. If they get someone who can bowl 150+ kmh. Then they will be really unbeatable.
They have good Batsmen, good wicket keeper, good spinners, good medium pacers. They need only one fast bowler

Abhi Mithun bowls at 140-145kph and he is just 10 weeks old to First class. He started 3 yrs back.Has got the built as he wanted to become a discuss thorwer.Son of a fitness trainer. He believs that his USP is pace and wants to add on his existing speed.

So here he is Kahmed..Just as you wished.

it will take a bit time to get there. Patel was also promised to get 150kph but he lost his pace. It should be a man with pace and with a good cricketing brain. Not like Sami.

This is Badri's test I feel and also for Vijay. Whoever gets to bat at no 3 will have huge shoes to fill in and these two tests will be crucial. Dravid will be missing only his 3rd and 4th tests since making his debut and it is by no means going to be easy facing Steyn, Morkel, de Wet and Parnell in such hot form.

Nothing less then big centrury will be required by them to back in reckoning once the missing players return, such is the Indian batting strength. Wow!

In the hindsight , with Badri,Vijay,Pujara,Rahane,Rohit,Kohli,Raina,Pandey,Mukund and many more Indian batting options are available.Post Tend-Dravid-Lax, it won't be that big a worry to contend. It would not impact as it was imagined to be.

We will definitely miss Tendulkar for sure once he bids adieu to tests, but it has to happen.Meanwhile no worris for atleast next 3-4 years as he is there to stay Smile and keep the world entertained with his masterclass.

This bloke is bit differenct then Munaf or others , they were hyped to be fast , but I never saw them consistently bowling 140kphs.

Abhi does that , he has the built and fitness to carry that. Most importantly he does not want to cut down on pace.

Can he handle the situation at big stage and Is he really ready for the big league needs to be seen. They should have played him in the 2 day match of Ind Pres XI match vs SA.

Now chances are less that he will be 1 in playing XI.

So Rohit might play the first test match but i think this might be his last one becuz he will make a duck in both innings.

Rohit is a well capable batsman, T20 messed him up, lets see how he'll play now he don't really have to go after anything.  If India bats, I'll be up for most of the night - if they bowl, I'm surely going to sleep.

India are very lucky Rohit got injured otherwise they would have lost it by an innings.

%20%20%20 , you seem to be relieved that Rohit is not palying. More than anyone in this world you would be happy. Mystery wait till he makes a debut in tests, maybe then you will have to retire from CW.

Watch an amazing comeback by the South Africans.  When I went to sleep, India were truly well and in control in the first session with Mishra bowling very well and add Zaheer's excellent opening spell.

So much for me seeing Sehwag tonight - oh well, West Indies will be on so wouldn't have watched him anyways.

Its not easy for this bowling attack to get these 20 south african wickets. They can get it against Bangladesh but not against the world class Batsmen. Only Zaheer is capable of that or Harbhajan but he was not on track today.
Its always Indias batting which wins matches. They can still win this if Sehwag gets a quick double hundred or Tendulkar. Only their runs can give their bowlers the needed confidence and pressure to the opponent batsmen.

Ishant's release is no where near it was, even from watching him running into bowl and delivering without the help of slow motion replay, you can see the wrist rolling to the side of the ball instead of really pushing behind it.  If conditions are conducive to inswing it will swing plenty but sadly, that's hardly ever the case in India.

Someone needs to point that out to him!

So far RSA completely on top. Kallis misses yet another double. Still has to make one. Indian matting depends largely on Gambhir and Sehwag at the top but I'm looking for to Vijay and Badri.

"India get a taste of the future" - N Hunter, another hopeful in anticipation that Indian batting will become weak post TDL  ... I can just laugh at him and his ignorance. No doubt it will become weak , but it will still be the best Smile in bussiness.

Styen bowled fantastically, Indians were to blame themselves for their batting display as they did not apply themselves like Kallis and Amla when ball was doing something. It was just that.
