    Posted: 15 December 2009 at 1:30pm
Well, well, well, watch a game.  I came home about 7, ate and was watching the Pakistan game when a sleep hit me and I gave in.  got up when they went lunch and went outside in the living to nap more comfortably as my bro was still watching.  He woke me up at 11.30 saying India batting and boy oh boy, wasn't I delighted and I wasn't disappointed, although I called it quits at the 40th over.

Sehwag was destructive, Tendulkar was good and Dhoni was brutal straight down the ground.  Throw Yuvraj in the mix and Sri Lanka could have been chasing way over 450.  The pitch was a beauty but Sri Lanka again didn't bowl all that well.

I reckon India bowled pretty badly too cause I can't see good bowling being dispatched for 400 runs.  India won in the end by 3 runs, the fans got their money worth.

Wished I could have seen Dilshan innings, he's pretty good to watch nowadays!  Sanga has carried on his brilliant T20 form!

Yes Sanga is back in terrific form again. Always a treat to watch him in form.

Except for Harbhajan all the other bowlers were really bad for both teams but I guess it was obviously a batting paradise all the batsmen made full use of it as well. Interesting to see Gambhir come in at No.5. Great knock by Sehwag and Dilshan too.

My goodness,I didn't watch it live but I came online to see how it went and.....
400 twice!
What was it,a pitch made of planks?
You know, I'm trying to decide whether to change my siggy or not...

A dream pitch for the bastmen but a nightmare for the bowlers! Yes it was a thriller but I feel sorry for the bowlers! Limited overs cricket is just becoming a batsman's game! Bowlers have nothing these days!

This pitch for tomorrow's game is all said to be another batting deck, the one which saw one of the high scoring T20 game just some days back between these sides.

Sri Lanka can thank their lucky stars that Yuvraj is not around - when India gets off to a flyer, he just makes things even worse for the opposition.

well I was in office so didn't saw the game but was following it on the net and it really was quite amazing. not a pitch that you'd want for any format of the game. it was a disgrace for the game of cricket. However, The match was very exciting and I must say it could have gone either way. Happy that India came back well to pull it off... losing after scoring 414 would have really hurt bad.

I would'nt mind another 400 plus score and an equally competative chase.I love to see raining sixes and fours.

Just a  question to all those who said or think this match was a disgrace. When SA chased down 430 odd against Australia in Jo'burg , How many of you think it was also a disgrace?

India is known for its flat pitches this is why its a disgrace to see 400 plus scores and on the other hand SA is known for good cricket pitches thats the different between that match and this one.

Rohit Sharma - What the world has seen is gear 1, gear speed 2,3,4,5,7,8,9 to be witnessed in IPL only.

I too don't mind seeing the occasional high score here and there, just as long as the other team comes close to chasing it.

I fell asleep while watching the highlights. I dunno if I was tired or have a sudden feeling to watch Test cricket or bored of Indian cricket temporarily (cause I don't mind the other series right now). I mainly watched it to see Sanga's innings. I guess I need some more of Gambhir, Dravid, Tendulkar. Whatever, I think its just a phase thats gonna last for 24 hours or so .

I don't think Yuvraj will make it any better SW. He'll either be one of the 3 or 4 that add to the 420-odd but he's not gonna make too much of a difference. Firstly, he needs time to bat. If Sehwag, Gambhir, Tendulkar, Dhoni, etc. bat for 40-odd overs, there not much Yuvraj can do but I get what you mean. He can be destructive once he's set.

The next match might be a little boring unless some players I like make some runs. Hopefully the bowelrs will have something in the 3rd ODI by which time Murali and Yuvraj should be playing

Just as Mystery has pointed out Raj.... occasionally it's is ok but in IND and PAK this happens far too often. We cannot have tracks where 350 is a par score! thats just ridiculous!

In fact Bangladesh and Srilanka have better wickets. It's very rarely that we see high scoring games in those two countries.

1-1 with 3 two go! Another nail biter. this series has really been good for the future of ODI's in terms of competitiveness.

what terrific form Dilshan is in! He really is one of the most dangerous batsmen these days along with Sehwag. I think unfortunately for IND they are relying a bit too much on Sehwag these days. I mean just look at all past victoies of India in last 12 months or so and in most of them you'll find that Sehwag has done well. If he fails, IND more often than not, lose.

Dhoni banned for 2 odis for slow over rate. Sehwag to lead in Cuttack and Kolkata. There goes our highest scorer in the series!

That is a big loss indeed. Dhoni is so very important in the middle order. I hope yuvi comes back for the 3rd ODI.

Looking forward to the game at Eden Gardens after such a long time! by the way it is such a pain this schedule... no games on saturday and sunday and then you have one on monday!!!! How pathetic is this????????

In test match Sehwag has done well but in Odi India are doing well becuz of Dhoni not Sehwag. Now that he is not playing in the next match India will struggle.

certainly a full house Zuhair, as is always the case in India!

Sehwag has often provided India with quick starts Mystery and that has helped. we saw that in NZL earlier this year, against England last year in India and again here against SLN. I mean others like Yuvi and Dhoni might have carried on but it is Viru who has given them those quick starts which has been crucial. If he has got out early, Ind has struggled to pace the innings.

India should ideally never struggle with the batting line they have. They have always played a weak bowling unit. Have hardly seen them playing with five genuine bowlers - which is why they are inconsistent.

Eden's under renovation hence seat availability has been halved. Expect a 40,000 capacity crowd.

Quite a different game today, the way the Lankans started it looked as if they'll score around 350. They were 54/0 in 4 overs!!! 165/1 and collapsed to 239 all out. quite an amazing turnaround that!!! IND though go 2-1 up and I must say IND will win it from here on it. I can't see Lanka coming back in this series.

It's very strange that Jayasuriya has been left out from the side consistently. I think his experience and his bowling would have come in very handy in today's game!!! I'm not complaining though, it's nice if he stays out for one more game and IND wrap up the series!

Here's one for you: Jayasuriya will pass 20 years in international cricket since his international debut was on Boxing Day 1989.

One more series victory, nothing new about it. Almost for entire of second half of 2009 India never really played with full strength team.Every now and then one or two key players were always missing in team, many players comming back from injury, still they had a decent 2009.

another series win for India and congratulations to team India for their fine effort!

Kohli was always a special talent and he did show that the other day. Gauti has just carried on his amazing form of last 18 months or so. he has been a terrific find for India. India certainly have the best batting line up in the world, but I'm still not entirely convinced about the bowling attack. except for Zaheer and Harbhajan, I have serious doubts over others.

Lanka struggled with their bowling, they do have a good batting line up I believe but their bowling is well below par. This is not the only tour where they have lost badly to the indians, it has been the case even in the last two ODI series that these two teams have played against each other. They'll have a chance to take some sort of revenge when they meet again in Bangladesh in a few days time!

Yes, India's major weakness is their bowling, well, and their fielding too but the bowling is lacking in the pace department.  Sharma has badly lost it and only Khan is bowling well.  Sreesanth is just back so I won't put out the verdict yet.

Gambhir, Sehwag, Dravid, Tendulkar, Laxman, Dhoni is as powerful as they can come.  Add Yuvraj and Raina/Kohli for Dravid and laxman in ODI's and it's still good.

Nobody has talked about the abandoned match at Delhi. A real shame that for the game and for the BCCI. strict action is reported to have been taken against the guilty but it is something the entire nation will be very sad about. The Delhi track was not up to the mark even during the Champions league, I thought. Sadly no such action is taken when the curators produce batting paradises as we saw in the first game against SRL.

At least a batting paradise gets a game Sam - this Dehli pitch on the other hand was a disgrace to play on.  Imagine T20 games where the ball isn't seaming around and teams can only get about 120.
