Just read an article in The Times on Kent's Joe Denly. Looks a very impressive lad , averaging 52.5 in 7 1st class matches and bowls decent legspin as well!
Rob Key has flattering things to say too , anyone seen the lad in the flesh? |

I haven't yet seen him but have been keeping an eye on his performances after hearing a couple of Kent supporting acquaintances raving about him.
oh he's in my England A squad too so you'll get to see him when we hammer your lot! Edited by Clobber - 15 May 2007 at 9:25am |

Rashid is or was being coached by Terry Jenner, the great Shane Warne's mentor!
I am quite talented too, I don't think anyone can turn the ball like I do!

I think you will find Panesar is from luton which while not the nicest of places is certainly in England therefore he is English. Also Rashid is from bradford, also in England. So i'm not sure where you get imported from.

All 3 of these are born and bred in England.
To me, that makes them just as English as I am. Another Yorkshire spinner, that's 3 in quick succession. Add Shahzad, a genuine fast bowler, and we could have the makings of a great bowling lineup. And all can play for England. Edited by The Tyke - 26 June 2007 at 5:51pm |

Since when did your origin declare your nationality, all of us would traditionally be african yet the rest of us in England would be a mix of german, scottish, various other random european and scandinavian countries, I personally would probably have a fair bit of various countries in me yet I would cinsider myself English and I would consider all 3 that you mentioned to be just as English as I am.
I dont think it really matters what their names are, I wasnt aware that being called Adil made you any less English then being called Dave. |

I will repeat (for the last time) that it was a joke. I just thought that it was funny that all three were of Asian origin since, in cricket, spin is usually related to the Asian teams. Thats all. I wasnt trying to stir up any sort of controversy. I sincerely hope you can understand that and if not, then thats your problem, I guess. |

Bloody hell, it was a joke, guys! I think scuudz and I were about the only ones who got it, even though it wasn't exactly the greatest joke ever told.

I'd seen a witty commercial in India where a guy ordered a whiskey and a masala dosa. Perhaps a sequel to that commercial wouldnt be such a bad idea.
