Apart from him, he's not really a youngster anyway. I think this thread is talking about 16-20 year olds.

He looks alright, but unless he kicks on this season he'll end up as no more than a decent county level player

lol you'll be the greatest cricketer in the world until I make my scene as a 16 year old from Melbourne skinny tall leg spinner I will be a giant on the field because im already 1.84 cm at 13. Then I will bamboozle you and every other batsman and become the greatest! mwahahahahah

Anyway I think Piyush Chawla of India has immense talent he is an exciting young player who I can't wait to see more of.

Has anyone seen Adil Rashid play? Obviously I saw the headlines and read a bit about him but I haven't seen him play even on TV, how fair is the hype?

The hype ain't no surprise but to take 25 wkts in 5 matches as a season debutant is magnificent!

The media have probably overhyped him a bit, but he's still a great prospect with lots of potential

A couple of people with real potential here in New Zealand are Cory Anderson and Timothy Southee. Both play for NZ un-19 and their domestic teams. Corys only 16 and a bit, was recorded bowling at 139 kph the other week but hasnt cracked 140kph yet, He is also a devastating batsmen. Timothy (aged 19) on the other hand is more around 120-130 kph but bowls very very tight line and length and picked up many wickets against india un-19 and is doing quite well for his domestic team. Batting is limited but powerful.

A fine all-round performance by bowling all-rounder Luke Butterworth in the Pura Cup Final smashing 67 and 103 batting at 8. While he took 4-33 from 16.5 overs. He will be playing for Australia one day along with fellow tasmanian Ben Hilfenhaus.

Navdeep Poonia and Varun Chopra are very good prospects for the future, also Timim Iqbal and Half of the Bangldesh team are under 24 so they will improve dramatically over the next 5 years

at worcs (my team so a bit biased!) theres Moeen Ali and Steven Davies who have already been mentioned but also the 17 year old dutch world cup batter Alexei Kervezee who might make an impact though it could be a year or two too soon for him.  I also think Stuart Broad is class

Craig Kieswetter who is the new Somerset wicket-keeper, watch out for him, I think he's a star of the future and could be a potential future international wickie.

Good South African lad Freddie!!  He went to school here in CT (Bishops no less!) and was making headlines all the time. Fine wicketkeeper , hardhitting batsman and still not yet 20 - could be a top player!

Good up and coming player learning the game very quickly. Good bowler and doing well with the blade as well.

Let's hope Rashid doesn't follow the paths of Atherton and Hussain - both fine leggies when younger and then couldn't hit the square , still less a length , when they matured.

Heres a question for a few of the english lads, in our local paper today, a chap I used to play against is said to be close to a test cap, his name is Tim ambrose, a wicket keeper batsman playing for warwicksire, is this close to the truth? or is it just more clean paper for the birdcage.

He's a solid enough player but I think he would be well down the list as an England candidate - especially given that he would have been at Sussex during Peter Moores' time there, where he couldn't get into the team ahead of Matt Prior.

They actually talked up the fact moores had coached him, and it would prove to be  helpful. Another aussie in the team might be just what they need.
