Australia v West Indies Brian Lara registered his 1st hundred of the series as West Indies posted 422 in their 1st innings with Richards (85),Greenidge (65),Sobers (41) & Lloyd (43) all posting valuble knocks. Charlie Turner took 5-117 off 24 overs. Waugh (186) & Bradman (167) put on 311 for the 6th wicket helping Australia declare on a massive 7/586, there where no real stand outs with the bowl for WI. A brilliant unbeaten double ton from Gary Sobers put the WI's back in the match but was it enough to gain a 2-0 series lead? India v Pakistan
Saeed Anwar brought up a excellent ton at the stroke of lunch after in a commanding position of 1/203 a huge collapse saw India right back in it with Kapil Dev taking 5/83. 3 times in the match a bowler was on a hat-trick with Wasim Akram twice missing out while Bishan Bedi also missed out on a hat-trick.
South Africa v England
A double century from Barry Richards saw South Africa post 344 and then struck with the ball having England in misery at 3/33. But a match saving partnership between Wally Hammond (159) & Eddie Paynter (206*) saw them out 267 on for the 5th wicket. They went onto post a big total but was that partnership big enough to level the series?
New Zealand v Sri Lanka
It was the Richard Hadlee show once again claiming back to back 10 wicket hauls and 4 five wicket innings as he lead New Zealand to a colossal win.

New Zealand 2-0 Sri Lanka
A terrible all round performance by the Sri Lankan's. Although on a poor pitch innings of 159 and 125 are just not good enough and deserved to get beaten. Well done to New Zealand o a great performance by them taking 20 wickets for 284 and scoring over 400 on a poor pitch.
Series now won by New Zealand with 1 match to play.

West Indies v Australia
Greg Chappell cracked 116 in a 160 run partnership with Bradman helping Australia to 317. In reply Sobers continued his brilliant form with a counter attacking 125 which included 25 fours and 1 six. In a high scoring ecounter someone did end up winning this series and was by a big margain.
India v Pakistan
Saeed Anwar (93) & Hanif Mohammad (99) continued destroying the indian line-up having the best partnership in the comp so far for openeing. Pakistan grabbed there 1st victory quite comfortabely but still lost the series 2-1.
South Africa v England
It was a run feast with late inclusion Bruce Mitchell making immediate impact with a classy 206. Graeme Pollock did one better smashing 45 boundaries in his 316-ball 207. After they where 4/112 the pair put on a record 368 for the the 5th wicket. In reply a important 162* from Wally Hammond & century from Sutcliffe kept England's hopes alive. Barry Richards,Jacques Kallis & Graeme Pollock all smashed centuries in the 2nd innings but they declared with a lead of 516 with only 64 overs remaining. To everyones amazement England collapsed badly did they manage to play out the innings and end the series in a draw or did they succombe to the pressure?
New Zealand v Sri Lanka
Jayasuriya & De Silva came out early hitting a run-a-ball to bring up the fifty but the same story goes they where bowled for a mere 136 with paceman Bond & Hadlee both grabbing fifers. In reply a massive collapse for New Zealand falling to 8-38 but luckily for them Nash,Hadlee & Bond did well to score 56 runs for the last 2 wickets and eventually where all out for a embarrasing 94. Sri Lanka did likewise in the 1st innings except score 1 run more giving New Zealand 180 chase. Did New Zealand manage the win and more importantly a series whitewash?
I'll update stats tomorow

A terrible start to the Sim for Sri Lanka after being thrashed in the 3 match series 3-0, a complete white wash.
A bad start for the Sri Lankan's who will be looking to cut the humiliation with a win in the One day series.
Well done to New Zealand though in the test series!
AK, how many games will be in the One Day Series?

Another day of one-sided games and once again the only contest being West Indies & Australia. This was a corker of the match coming down to the final ball in a massive run chase Australia needed 17 runs from the final over...
