Time for Afridi to retire

There was a thread where some ppl were telling Sachin to retire gracefully ,,, but after successfull ODI series that doubt has gone away ,, and a new doubt in my mind has come.

I was watching 20-20 Ing cup and found some Promising cricketers from Pakistan teams like multan tigers,peshawar panthers etc etc

Seeing the inconsistency of Shahid Afridi over almost a decade,,its time for him to say goodbye to International cricket soon [maybee in a year or two].

He has made his debut way back and still after 220 matches ,,he has a poor average of 23+, he hasent improved his technique and just slogs even now , every ball you can expect to get his wicket ,,.

On rare occations ,,[once in bluemoon] he will perform very very good.

Isn't it time for some consistent performer from pakistan to have that place like Mesab-ul-haq,Hafeez,Hameed,Faisal Iqbal etc[just a few to name ] ,,, who I bet would perform very much better than Afridi.

Why I am putting this post is ,, Afridi is very much inconsistent ,, I feel it is a crime to keep some talented youngster out of the side in order to accomodate Afridi.

See how Ganguly who made so many records is out of team ,,, why ? - to give chance to youngsters like Raina,chawla etc  

his records are all in sub-continent pitches or small grounds or against minnows like Ban,Zim,Ken etc ,,,,

I totally agree with kirdsy, and I highly complement his comendable thoughts, infact I believe he is a real genious and wonder what he eats to come up with such great Ideas, I think Afridi  should retire becos I cant see him humiliating Indians any furthur,infact I want every other player in the world to retire who had scored even a fifty against indians for the prosperity of indian and world cricket, even the ball manufacturers support the idea becos the balls go out of shape so early. He has inflicted more damage to indian team than the whole indian selection commitee in a decade, he should retire immediately as his presence in the field irks indians to the greatest proportion, and finally he should retire and be  made batting coach of indian team to infuse a bit of aggression in traditionally defensive indians.

I think he should retire immediately!

Please kirdsy be fair and add minnow India into the list as well becos Afridi has inflicted greatest damage to them, so atleast be honest  for a player who I believe should quit as soon as possible atleast for the sake of indian cricket. Infact can be taken as fielding coach in an Indian set up.
Infact I think we should all now try to find a decent job for Afridi as its been setteled that he should retire immediately.

Reasons for Afridi to retire

" he hits so powerfully",

" he hits indians even powerfully",

" he is inconsistant"

" he is consistant against indians"

"He hits more sixes than fours"

" he hits more sixes than fours against indians"

" he is a disgrace for modern cricket"

" he disgraces Indians even more"

THE BOTTOM LINE IS HE SHOULD RETIRE, THAN TO GET BOOTED OUT LIKE GANGULY, OR TO FACE HUMILIATION OF HITTING ON THE FACE LIKE TENDOLKAR, OR END HIS CAREER AFTER HIT ON FACE LIKE SRIKANT.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU KIRDSY , AFRIDI SHOULD RETIRE GRACE FULLY, HANG HIS BOOTS,PANTS, SHIRTS, VEST ETC ETC WHATEVER YOU SAY BECOS INDIAN SUFFERING ON HIS HANDS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE, ISNT IT!

Now all the forum member know what was on your mind ,, when u were time and again posting ..."Tendulkar should retire ", "he should hang his boots gracefully " etc etc ,, what all crap u posted  ,,,

Now the reason is out and clear ,, you have received enough of Tendulkar's wrath ,, he has always been thorn in pakistanis flesh for so long ,,,,, and you can't take anymore and you were indirectly  hinting on Tendulkar's retirement.

It was true ,, coz that innings of Sachin ENDED the carrier of

1.Wasim Akram, and

2. Waquar Younis.

I bet the same fate will of Asif and Akthar and time to come.

Afridi's record against India,
51 matches , Average of 26.30 , 2 hundreds and 4 fifties.

FYI:go to cricinfo ,, select statsguru ,, filter Afridi against India ,, and you will get the stats 

I hope that you will reply to this and won't do the thing that Shoaib Akthar did - [run away ]

ya true man ,,, see in WC2003 when sachin scared the hell out of wasim and waquar , the bowling greats[W and W]'s  knew that their cricketing days are over.

Well it was the same sachin who got hit by Waqar in his debut ,,, Sachin will always come back...

So the same way ,, he will come back and finish the carrier of Shoaib ,, so akthar backed off the ODI's.

Tendulkar need not retire he has got 5 more years in him ..... soon u will realise.

But I don't know about your Afridi ,,,,

Afridi has got in him to become a decent cricketer ,,but lacks cricketing brain and technique ,, the only thing that will bring consistency is to give captaincy to him ,,, so that he becomes responsible .

But it could backfire and ruin the entre team or it could be a masterstroke in making Afridi more consistent.

You are right , dead straight, infact afridi should have retired three years back, than his career averages would have been even lesser around 15.1 against india and would have prevented the humiliation of indian bowlers and the hurt it feels to see such a player with inconsistancy, poor batting techniques , a total fluke(I wondfer why this word has not been repeated so far), consistently hitting Indians in India, I agree he should retire and infact be trialled in india on charge of attempted murder to young upcoming inoccent Indian slow medium fast dollies. He should hang every thing right now!

thanks for the stats ,,, coz as you always say ,,, regarding Dhoni ,,, his average is good coz he has played in subcontinent etc etc ,,,

so this is what afridi averaged before batting on the batting paradises of PAKISTAN, even else his batting average outside sub-continent is just a Naked shame.

Dont worry ,, all pakistan pitches are so good these that even Kaneria will average about 20 to 25 ,, by the time he will retire.

But no one will give importance to the knoks of Inzy,Younis,Yousuf etc etc ,, who keep playing in Pakistani paradises only and make huge runs ,,,

man Afridi averages just 26 against India ,,,that poor international cricket ,,,,and what are you taking about ,,, he has played hardly some 3-4 good innings out of 51 matches against India thats ALL............!

If I give Dhoni's stats against pakistan ,,

11 matches ,,, 68.47 batting average ,,,One huge hundred,,,3 fifties,,, and strike rate ,,,, sorry ,,, I dont want to mention ,,,, coz you will not reply and run away ,,if I write the strike rate ........

But the difference between ME and U is that I dont keep REPEATING the awsome performance by Indian players like some FOOLISH PARROT.......ta ta chitter pitter ta ta chitter pitter ....think u realise the truth.

I was just discussing this thread with my colleage in tea break ,,,when I told average of afridi's 23 against 68 average of Dhoni against the respective team head on's.

Isen't it amazing that what Afridi does to Indian bowling in 3 matches ,,,, Dhoni does in just ONE INNINGS.

Tell me if I have to moderate myself a little bit ,,if that humilates much
