So far this week I've skipped two games ahead in both my T20 and youth leagues. Really pleased with this given there are only five games left.

Also a game clear on top of my SOD league, but this week we're playing a team we haven't beaten in five attempts. Hopefully we can get across the line, but we always really struggle against them. They're equal second on points, so it'd be really nice to get another game up on them.

I'm doing okay, top of my SOD league at the moment and looking like I could get another win today. Second in my YOD league but only sixth in my T20 league. The T20 league is a 3 league and the others are 4 leagues though so I suppose it's not that surprising that I'm struggling there.

How's everyone going here?

I'm amazed to find myself at the half way point of the T20 and youth seasons a game clear on top of both leagues.

I'm also level on points with first in my senior OD league, so could conceivably be  on top of all three leagues at the half way mark of the season.

Would love to be promoted in at least one of my leagues. God knows I need the extra income that would come from that...

Got a couple of reasonable prospects on the market atm:

NineTenXI >> Terry Reid >> Details
Player Details
Team (Youth) NineTenXI Talents Gifted (Bowling)
Bats Left hand batsman Bowls Right arm Medium
Wage $4,324 Rating 26,883
Nationality Australia Australia Age 19
Form reasonable Fatigue rested
Experience poor Captaincy average
Endurance poor Training Bowling
Batting atrocious Bowling outstanding
Technique reliable Power poor
Keeping poor Fielding dreadful

Put a 1M starting price on him, not sure if I'll get it or not, but figured it was worth a go as I'm desperately short on funds at present.

Also this young fella:

NineTenXI >> Alec Goodfellow >> Details
Player Details
Team (Youth) NineTenXI Talents Arm Ball
Bats Right hand batsman Bowls Left arm Finger spin
Wage $1,112 Rating 18,920
Nationality Australia Australia Age 16
Form reasonable Fatigue rested
Experience dreadful Captaincy average
Endurance poor Training Batting
Batting reasonable Bowling dreadful
Technique average Power atrocious
Keeping poor Fielding poor

Could end up being quite a player in time. Put a 50k asking price on him which I've already got.

Just thought I'd let you guys know about them in case you're interested.

How did everybody do in their cup matches???

I won mine convincingly and now play the Navman Cheesecake away, in NZ. My team is much better than theirs but we need to put the performance in on the day.
I'm looking to blow them away and book my place in round 3 and still on a collision course with the Maharashtra Knights, the number 4 seed in the tournament.

Yeah I've got my first ever PC game on the 29th of March, it's against a team that's much better than mine on paper, but you just never know I suppose

You really have drawn the short straw Monty, with being promoted into 2.1

Some of the teams in that league are pretty much of the same standard as my league 1.1
Examples:

Scrubs CC: Until the end of season 5 this team was known as the Maths Debator's and were the season 4 champions in SOD 1.1. Their manager is Yoie, who is the current South African National Manager.
After being relegated last season on the last day (due to TheMen winning and me demolishing his team) Yoie will look to get his side back up at the first attempt.

Pat's XI: From the team of the National manager, to the team of his assistant manager. Patriotaus currently is the No. 2 in the national setup. His side has some real impact players who can take matches away from the opponents is short spaces of time.

Boland Raiders: Probably a rather underestimated manager and team in South Africa, Bakerman gets his teams playing pretty well so he's one to watch out for.

The 3 above teams are all part of South Africa's 9 team PCC World Cup squad and Yoie has beaten 2 of the game's best in this tournament. If he gets on a roll then there's only one team in my eyes who'll win promotion.

Also, Why do you have 41 players in your Senior Squad Monty???
For every extra player you have in the Senior Squad you lose 4% training efficiency.
You have 21 players extra (you're allowed 20 players without lose training efficiency) which mean you have just 16% training efficiency for the Seniors every week.
You need to get rid of some and fast, or else you'll fall way behind teams due to your lack of training.
Not to mention the huge wage bill you must have because of them.

And, as far as I know, All the teams run by a Cricket World member have got a place in the PC, which starts on the 29th March. So good luck to everybody in the cup and in their leagues.

Not a bad pull for 23K in my youth academy, get his fitness to average first then a bit of bowling tech, and then bowling for quite a while...

Im in SA OD league 2.1 rhis year, in 3.something for 20/20 and 4.6 i think for my YOD, Im really going to have to push hard to avoid relegation in OD, although I should get a comfortable promotion in 20/20 and YOD

I had a great first season in FTP, suffering only 4 defeats and 2 ties, all against the other human opponent in my league who was much better than me. I got promoted from my T20 league ahead of him, which means I'm in 3 for this season, and I could well get promoted to level 2 as my league doesn't look that difficult. I should go up to 3 in OD and youth next season as well. Finally I got 600K in prize money, I'll probably spend some of that on a new batsman for my senior side, then save the rest up for later.

He looks a magnificent player. One thing I'd advise is getting his Endurance and Fielding up. The fielding will help close the gap between Bowling and Technique. and the endurance make his bowling much more effective as he won't tire quickly.

I've got pretty lucky with Youth Promotions this season. Most of my bowling attack is still in tact after only one bowler that played promoted. That was a RM bowler, meaning that my strongest youth bowling attack will look like this:

Dale Steyn (RF)
Piet Rosenberg (RF)
John Forsaith (RWS)
Pediya Gazali (RFM) / Wayne Claassens (RM)
Anargha Ullas (RF)

Not bad at all I reckon. I just need a left handed bowler I think, to add some more variety.
The funny thing is that they can all bat a bit as well (Ullas and Claassens have more ability with the bat than others) but the only player in my XI this season who can't is my wicket keeper.

I feel pretty confident that with a couple of purchases to bolster my batting, I'll win the Youth 1.1 title this season.

With my Seniors I'd be happy if Scannell doesn't get picked for the Senior National squad, and if Donald is dropped from the squad as I have problems when he goes on tour.

My current bowling attack is:

Allan Donald (RM)
Garth le Roux (RFM)
Andrew Spry (RFS)
Patrick Ryan/Dread Romeo/John Tabart (All RWS)
Shaun Pollock (LM)

I have recently though being playing a 4th seamer rather than the leggies and that's worked well. All depends on pitch I guess.

Are you entered into the Cup this season Braddles???

Young Reid has had a tech pop since I posted him above, but the best came today when his bowling popped to expert Big%20smile

Exciting times, but I'll need him to perform well as my youth team has been decimated by player ageing. Ended up with nine players becoming part of the senior side, so I only have 13 players in my youth squad not one of which is a wicketkeeper. Looks like I'll hafta hit the transfer market...

He definitely looks a good player Braddles. I'd also post him up on the FTP forums in the transfer adds section.
It'll get noticed more there and you'll get more for him.

He's definitely got the foundation to become a superstar player and it wouldn't surprise me if he breaks the million $ mark, especially if you can tempt Eggy, Knights and those like them.

If the price is still low tomorrow I'll have a look into buying him. I'm down on funds at the minute due to buying a player not so long back.

If any of you guys are interested, I've got this young fella on the market:

NineTenXI >> Shane Ridings >> Details

Player Details
Team (Youth) NineTenXI Talents Sturdy, Gifted (Fielding)
Bats Right hand batsman Bowls Left arm Medium
Wage $1,672 Rating 28,633
Nationality New%20Zealand New Zealand Age 17

In desperate need of some cash so figured I'd try to get it all done in one fell swoop. He's going for $105k atm, though of course I'm hoping for a bit more than that. Will be a very good player I'd imagine.

Great pull Slogger, his power has to be a massive bonus for you, got to love that. Don't think any of my kids have come out of the academy with power and fielding that high, definitely a good thing for you.

Thanks for the advice, i thought he might be worth a go with his prodigy talent.

Edit: just had a quick chat with the SL U19 manager and he does have a chance, whether he gets in or not though, he'll still be a great player for me though I would think, or I could sell him, how much would I get?

He'll need a tech pop and a bowling pop before the end of the season to have a chance I reckon.
But Sri Lanka's quite a small nation in regards to player numbers so anything's possible.
