   I just used the back of my knocking in mallet and it worked nicely.

	I have done this more than once by using a broken broomstick. It has to be shortish but it did take me sometime. You got to do some thinking to get it right if you're gonna do this for the first time.
	In troubled times, being philosophical helps a great deal, it helps you to remain sane and not do any further damage.

	you could try putting a little vasaline on the inside of the grip and try sliding it down the bat, take a little effort though

	How do I put a new grip onto one of my bats? I haven't got a gripping cone, but I'm wondering is there any other way to get it on? Cheers
